A couple days had passed since the XO had arrived in the middle of a crisis and the ship had finally been returned to some semblance of ‘normal’. She had gotten settled in her quarters and had even gotten to meet several of the crew as everyone got resettled. Before heading to meet the Department Heads, she thought the CO was her best first contact here. They had exchanged pleasantries and such when she had turned the ship back over to him, but not much more than a semi formal report that all was well before they parted ways.

So Valentina had queried the CO’s location and headed there now to see him. With things being upside down already, she didn’t want to chance waiting longer and something else happening before they had a chance to meet officially.

Aaron was currently in his ready room, attempting to stuff fabric in a vent to stop a spray of silly string, when the chime rang. “Dammit! Come in!” He called, sounding a bit frustrated.

Valentina stepped in and looked at the CO. Seeing the silly string and the attempt to stopper the vent, she bit her lip a moment to keep from laughing. “Computer, temporarily shut down ventilation to Captain’s Ready Room. Authorization Bellini four, four, zero, nine.” She laughed and tapped out a request for another towel from the replicator and walked up beside the Captain. “If this is my check in test, do I pass?” She smiled and helped to cover the vent where his hands hadn’t reached.

Aaron busted out laughing, nodding, “yes, Commander.” He said, picking bits of silly string off his shirt. “This ship sure is crazy. But I wouldn’t trade her for the world.”
