The Constellation has come to a stop to collect the new counselor as a shuttle approached. Little was known about Lt. Commander O’Dell except that he had just finished command school and was a licensed Counselor. The shuttle came closer to the ship and sent a message:

“USS Constellation, this is shuttle Lionheart requesting permission to dock with one passenger.”

Lt. Commander O’Dell, CNS

=^=Lionheart,=^= came the voice of a young lady, =^= you are cleared for docking, please reduce speed and let the auto system bring you in.=^=

Upon arriving in the bay, the shuttle would be met with the usual crew of folks to look it over and make sure all was well for it to leave once more. Small bags of goodies were placed on the shuttle seats for anyone who would occupy them and a pair of special bags were available for the pilot and co pilot seats. Such bags contained balloons, candy, confetti and no small amount of glitter. All of it loose and easily accessible, of course.

Also meeting the new CNS was the XO. Valentina has eyes like blue diamonds and hair like fresh mined coal. Her smile was sincere and her uniform was inspection ready. She stood, hands clasped before her, near the bay door as the shuttle opened to deposit goods and folks. She knew what Jeremy looked like, from his file and smiled a bit broader as he disembarked.
