OOC: I am in the middle of a thread with our XO. However, she is on LOA and I don’t want to go AWOL. Hence, I am going to start this thread too. Anyone that wants to join is invited and I will run both threads to their conclusion once the XO returns.

IC:

The Commander walked into his new office. It was plain, meaning there was nothing on the walls, and it was a basic workspace. When the door opened, Jeremy looked around to make sure there was no ‘welcome to the ship pranks.’ Like the Commander told the Executive Officer, it was weird for Jeremy to come from a world where everyone was trying to kill him to a ship where they talk about Jell-O every day. It was going to take some getting used to. Pressing a button on the computer panel Jeremy said,

“Computer, this is Lt. Commander Jeremy O’Dell, reporting for duty as Counselor of this ship. Please mark my start CEWgarthis duty station as of this date and time.”

Lt. Commander Jeremy O’Dell, CNS

“Lt. Commander Jeremy O’Dell. Our new counselor.” Andromeda stood casually in front of the doorway to Jeremy’s office. She smiled slightly and leaned against the wall. “Welcome to the madhouse.”
-Andromeda DeLion, CMO

Not being used to people surprising him, he turned around with his knife drawn. Once he realized there was no threat, he put his knife back in his holster and replied, “You could get yourself hurt sneaking up on people like that. I hear there is a lot of pranking going on around here. Let’s say I might not be the best person to prank. That said, it is nice to you meet you.”

Andromeda grinned. “I’m the CMO. If anyone starts pranking in my sickbay they’re going to have to worry about more than a knife.”

Brenna, large bag still over her shoulder arrived to the counseling suite and nodded to DeLion and O’Dell. She smiled and held out a hand, “Lt Brenna Atoded. I’m looking for the counselor for my on boarding.” About that time a small grey head poked out of the bag, bunny nose twitching and setting whiskers to flicking this way and that and tall big as the whole body ears flopping and straightening up.
Lt Atoded, CoP

Oh, my goodness, thought O’Dell, will this ‘welcoming party’ never stop? Reaching out his hand and shaking the other, he replied, “What is that……thing….coming out of your bag?”

Brenna grinned, oh my, and the man had a knife. Well she knew what do with that if it came to it. “It’s a rabbit. I’m the new Chief of Pets.” Brenna smiled a little embarrassed. “I was a counselor at my last posting. And then I got transferred here, something about everyone gets a pet and maybe the crew will calm down?” Working with the counselor might be a very good way to do her job. Pets could be very soothing, first priority-get the jumpy counselor a BIG dog to be a therapy pet, for him.

OOC: Don’t judge O’Dell to hard. Remember he came from the Mirror Universe and Starfleet tried to make him a counselor. Let’s just say that the train he is on might not being traveling as good as command would like.

OOC: Awesome! Don’t mind Brenna she’s a little confused as to her job on board. She just wants to do it well.

Lt. Commander Jeremy O’Dell, CNS

Andromeda rolled her eyes. “It’s a rabbit Jeremy, keep up.” She nodded to Brenna and held out her hand. “I’m Andromeda.”
-Andromeda DeLion, CMO

Brenna shook her hand. “I’m Brenna, and this little fuzz ball is Luna. Nice to meet you.” Brenna had a firm, decisive hand shake, almost at odds with her playful, pet carrying, relaxed demeanor.

He responded in a very Terran way, “Let me get this straight, you brought a Rabbit to a Starship? I mean what good is it, other than for soup?”

Jeremy O’Dell, CNS

With a light hearted laugh she nodded, “Yes I brought a rabbit to a starship. And she’s FAR too small to be put in a stew. You’d need about a hundred of her to even make it worth the effort. But if it’s Rabbit Stew you like, I’m sure I can make one for you.” If the goal had been to upset her, it didn’t work. Brenna, usually, had a good sense of humor.
Lt Cmdr Atoded, CoP
OOC: Fixing split and replying

Andromeda grinned a bit mischievously. “If you’re getting everyone a pet you must have some concept of their personality. What would you say our dear counselor here needs?” She didn’t exactly know much about animals.
-Andromeda DeLion, CMO

Jeremy did not know what to make of this ship. First, he is greeted by a first officer that flirted with him and now these two. A rabbit (that he saw no use for on a Starship) and a doctor who did not seem to care either way.

“Well, it is good to get to know my shipmates…if I ever have to take over the ship at least I know who I will not have to kill” said O’Dell with a half smile. (The real problem was Terrans never spoke in jest).

O’Dell, CNS

Andromeda nodded sagely. “Good rule of thumb: Never kill your doctors. We tend to come in handy.” She seemed unphased by talk of mutiny and murder, the same way she seemed unphased by most things.
-Andromeda DeLion, CMO

Brenna just smiled good naturedly and filed that piece of information away. She was a trained counselor after all and though she took no threat from O’Dell she took from his tone and body language that he was not joking. That in of itself however did not make him a threat. “Well I was coming to get my unboarding eval done. Is this a good time, Cmdr, or should I come back?”
Lt Cmdr Atoded, CoP

“Why don’t you let me get more settled in first and then we can talk, okay? asked O’Dell

O’Dell, CNS

Brenna nodded, “I will send you a request for a later time then. Have a good day Lt Cmdr.” She turned to the doctor, “Lt.” She did a clean about face and, her bag still over her shoulder left the counseling suite to go find where her office was supposed to be.
Lt. Cmdr Atoded, CoP

Andromeda nodded at her as she left, then turned to Jeremy. “I came to offer to help you out with scheduling. Whole crew to get through and all.”
-Andromeda DeLion, CMO

“Thank you, doctor” replied O’Dell.

“But, like I just said, please give me a day or so to get settled in. I need to ‘adjust’ this office so that it fits me. Also, I still need to do the same with my quarters. If you will please give me some time” continued O’Dell.
