Brenna could laugh at herself. She had to admit that previous run in the with counselor was funny. She probably sounded a little frantic. Well she was a counselor herself and she was aware that people who were exhausted did strange things. And Brenna certainly had been exhausted, surprised, and well she didn’t want to think about it. Having Richard around was going to be very very difficult. Though he’d be amazing to work with. His record was impressive and in just a few days it was obvious the crew was already taking to him.

Brenna opted not to take Greki and Fekri with her to this meeting. Instead Luna tagged along, happy in her carry bag. Munching on apple peel while Brenna took the turbolift to Deck 11. She stepped out and walked over to door, looking to see if Lt Eleyr had chosen to man the outside desk or not. Every counselor had their preference. She rang the bell and waited.

Lounged at the outside desk, her feet perched atop its face and her fingers wrapped around what appeared to be an old-fashioned magazine (laminated to prevent decay, of course), was Eleyr. As the screech of a bell ravaged her ears, she slapped the magazine against her chest and peered over her slipper-ed toes. “Commander!” A wild grin spread across her lips as she swung her feet off the table and planted them on the ground. “I was just finishing my lunch with a rivetting tale of human scadal!”

Brenna grinned and caught a glance of the title and laughed. “One of my hall mates at Academy used to read those to us after exams. I think we were all a little punch drunk from all the late nights, studying, and stress, but whatever it was we were all totally enthralled by the stories. I think we spent more sleepless nights over those than we did studying.”

Within seconds, she’d crossed to Brenna and struck out a hand in greeting.

“I wasn’t sure you’d return after that–” a playful sneer met her expression “–fiasco. Please, come inside. I don’t have any treats for the lady, yet. But I have Targ jerky– I hear it compliments apples well.” She palmed the door open and gestured for Brenna to enter first. The Betazoid 2O would find Eleyr’s office to be a striking contrast to when she’d last been there. Tapestries hung on either side of her weapon-laden wall, bearing the distinct design of House Em’ujo’s crest. Her floors were covered by rugs of varying patterns, each accented by blacks and reds. Couches were replaced by a mixture of cushions and low-level seats surrounding a long, wooden table accented by various odds and ends. But perhaps the most distinctive feature was a strange aroma that permeated the room. Subtly spicy and subtly sweet, it was a mystery to the nose.

Brenna let out a full bodied giggle. “When Lt Cmdr Marsh is involved it is ALWAYS a fiasco. You just have to get used to it. Though, I was sure to take advantage of his suggestion and take a nap. Targ jerky sounds interesting and I’m willing to give it a try.” Brenna followed her inside and took a deep breath. “What’s the aroma? I like it. And I love this,” she waved around the room at the décor. Reminded her of a hunting cabin. Brenna wasn’t a weapon’s expert, her…sneaky skills leaned to other tools, but she could appreciate them and she could use most weapons, but Casela would LOVE this collection. Which reminded her, she hadn’t spoken to her ‘sisters’ in awhile. She needed to remedy that.

“Take a seat wherever you like,” she hummed. “Would you like something to drink?”

Brenna glanced around and spotted a round floor cushion. Thicker floor cushions were a problem for her small stature. She sat, crossing her legs in front of her, but the cushion was so thick that her ankles wouldn’t hit the floor, and if she put her feet down she looked like a child sitting there, because unlike taller adults, her knees didn’t tower. So like a child she was able to completely sit crossed-legged on top of the cushion with out looking like a giant. She sat and shifted around getting totally comfortable on giant cushion and rolled her shoulders a bit. The long sleep had done her a lot of good, but now, her was very much aware of the tension she’d been carrying. “Jestral Tea.” Brenna grinned, mostly at her expense over the previous encounter. “Honestly I was just coming to welcome you. I was mostly running on autopilot and all I heard was ‘BOARDING PARTY.’ The Connie is known for their pranks, and it was aimed at you, but I think I’m the one who got caught out on that one.”
