Richard entered the Captain’s Ready Room , scanned those in the room, and made direct eye contact with Ch’otok since he was clearly the elephant in the room, “Sorry I am late sir. I was in a meeting with an advisor at Starfleet Academy. Captain Zarcal did not fill me in on us having a visitor aboard the Constellation today. In fact, I have not heard from him at all for a while” An expression of confusion spread across his face at the thought of that, “We have not met sir. I am Commander Marsh, the XO here.” Richard walked towards his chair and preceded to sit down at his usual spot at the opposite end of the table. He quickly glanced at Brenna, “Hello there Commander Atoded, it is good to see you this morning.” He grinned as he had seen her next to him in bed earlier, but kept a professional tone since the rest of the crew did not know that they were an item just yet. He absolutely loved the secrecy and felt like he was a secret intelligence agent in the process. Richard then acknowledged Teebo with a casual wave of his hand, “Hello Lieutenant, it is good to see you today.”

Marsh, XO

Teebo squelched a reply, raised a clawed hand briefly. “Fair skies, gentle,” Pit translated cheerily. “Pleasure, as always.”

Brenna already knew that Ch’otok was familiar with the crew, but introductions were in order. She nodded in greeting to Richard, but like him, on duty she was the consumate professional. As well as an update. “Lt Cmdr Richard Marsh first officer, Lt Teebo Chief Engineer, this is Captain Ch’otok Klein, previously of the Klingon Imperial Fleet, Order of Kahless. He has made a lateral move to Star Fleet. He is an old friend of mine.” It was all true. There was more Brenna was sure but she didn’t know what yet. “As for Cpt Zarcal, that…” Brenna looked at Ch’otok, “Would best be left to you, Sir, to explain.”

Once that was done. “We haven’t gotten an update from Sickbay yet. But I was telling the Cpt that our visitor has very disturbing thoughts and memories. He is consumed by them. I’ve ordered Lt Burcham to keep the man under watch. He’s not said anything nor responded in any way to direct attempts to speak to him. But his mind. He has very clear memories of commiting very sadistic and violent acts. It is possible being alone in space so long has broken his mind or these are real memories. Further evaluation is needed, but I feel it would be prudent to keep him secure. I have left my dogs with Lt Burcham for the extra security.”

A thoughtful hum came from Pit and Teebo both. The keb grumbled and tapped his PaDD with a claw, his button eyes narrowed at the data flowing down the screen.

“That tub’s been tumbling out in the deep a good spell,” the artificial intelligence prattled jovially. “Conjure that would knock anyone’s positrons askew. Hazard to say that—as much shielding and redundancies as it had—might be it was meant to keep him in as space out if he had a hurtful hankering. No way to know lest the chief can squeeze more secrets out of the heap. But we’ll keep at it, Captain, naught to fret.”

=^=Laursen to security. Our new guest just walked out of Sickbay. He has not been released. He is also non-communative.=^=

=^=Laursen to Cpt Klein. Our new guest just walked out of Sickbay. He has not been released. He is also non-communative. I have informed security.=^=

“Conjure he just proved my point,” Pit noted dryly at minimal volume. Teebo cast what could only be described as an inquisitive look in the direction of the command staff.

Richard sighed at the lack of response from the security team and looked upwards slightly as he spoke firmly, “Computer, please locate our newest guest who just left sickbay and set up a security field on the deck to conceal him in his current location.” His head positioned back to being level with those in the room as he pressed his communication badge, “Marsh to Lieutenant Burcham come in please.” After making his moves, Richard crossed his arms across his chest as he patiently awaited for responses from the ship computer and their Chief of Security.

Brenna raised that infernal brow again. She hated this secrecy with the crew. Why she couldn’t just tell them she was intel and Connie have a standard intel officer like other ships she had no idea. If Ch’otok or Richard would just dismiss her she could go start digging up information on the man, or attempt to anyway. “It’s too bad our mutual friend isn’t here, Cpt. Her particular skill set would be amusing to witness with this particular guest,” she said somewhat cryptically.
