(Snip!)

Brenna nodded with a smile to Andromeda. “We have been contacted by The Wernstrom Institute. We are two hours out. The man who contacted us for assistance says the scientists are acting strange and they are all loosing their memories. And then he forgot that he called us. We have two hours for medical counseling, and security to come up with a tentative plan on how to assist them.”

Atoded, 2O

The Lt. hears the convo and asks “commander what can the science team do? I can set it so my department can take a look at some of the side effects.” He said to the commander.

Lt. Slayer

Turning to the Lt, “Can you get anything on sensors about anything environmental that might be going on? Perhaps search their database and see what experiments they might have been working on? Give yourself and medical a heads up before we arrive?”

Atoded, 2O

“Yes of course commander. Running the sensors now. We have a good clear opening. Also searching their database and looking through it. What am I looking specifically?” He asked.

Lt. Slayer

“Your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps Dr. DeLion can help you narrow your search.”

Atoded, 2O

“Of course commander. Dr. DeLion can you come and assist me?” He asked

Lt. Slayer

Andromeda nodded cheerfully and walked over the the Lt. “It reminds me of one of the academy case studies. The molecular chain of water was somehow altered, and it affected certain areas of the crews brain. Maybe you can do some sort of molecular environmental scan searching for anything out of the ordinary?”
-Andromeda DeLion, CMO

“Alright doc. Also.” As he looked at her smiling and wanting to say something but he knew that it wasn’t the right time to ask since they are doing something. “Anyways the molecular environmental scan is searching but so far there isn’t anything out of the ordinary.” He said. “Doctor. If there was a chance could we hang out after all of this is done?” He asked. “Commander. Like I said there isn’t anything out of the ordinary at all sir.” He said to the commander.

Lt. Slayer

As they searched their sensors and records, they’d find the Wernstrom institute to be a small space station, dedicated to the research of obscure scientific principles and invention of useless things. The average age of the scientists was about 80, which may have been playing into the lack of memory capacity among the lot of them.

-GM

“Commander. I think we found something. There is a Wernstorm institute down there. It’s a very unusual structure. There’s life signs some strong and some weak sir.” As he said to the commander.

Lt. Slayer

Richard took in Slayer’s words and pondered for a moment sitting in his chair, “hmmmmm.” He turned shifting his focus to Slayer and Andromeda, “Science and Medical. There must be some sort of anomaly down there causing all of these issues. Do you think it would be safe for us to go in the wild turkey or should we use some sort of protection. I strongly prefer to not go delusional in my young age.” A smirk spread across his lips in reaction to his commentary, “Let me know your thoughts in those regards. It would be nice to get off of the ship, but not at great costs.”

  • Marsh, XO

“Sir. As far as these readings are saying sir,” as he turned and looked at the commander, “it’s perfectly safe to go down there. There isn’t anything wrong. It’s just a few of the life signs are weak possible lack of food and water. But other then that sir, it’s all safe and perfectly safe for you to transport sir.” He said as he looked at the commander.

Lt. Slayer

Brenna raised a single brow. “That’s odd. There has to be something down there, even if it’s too small for sensors right now. The man we spoke with said they were loosing their memories. There are medical conditions that would cause such a thing, and the roster from the institute indicates they are all very old, but to happen all at once? That seems unlikely without some outside factor. And really 80s is still young these days with medical science being what it is.” She turned to Andromeda and Eleyr, “Is there anything you can think of that would cause mass dementia like symptoms?”

“A psychic illness perhaps, but physically… an excess of iron or certain minerals. Nothing that would come on suddenly.”
-Andromeda, CMO

“Viral and bacterial infections and assorted toxins may damage the brain, but where depends entirely on the kind of amnesia,” Eleyr nodded to Andromeda. “But spontaneous collective amnesia? I doubt it’s purely psychological unless by design.” She considered the notion of psychic illnesses. “If they’re suffering from a psychic illness, it wouldn’t hurt to check psilosynine levels. The culprit might’ve left a trail.”

She turned to the helm, “How much longer until we arrive?”

Atoded, 2O

Helm responded “30 minutes ma’am.”

-GM

— Eleyr, CNS

“Alright, so should we wear bio suits down just in case?” Brenna didn’t like the idea of a psychic attack. She’d encountered them before and having a telepath as part of the team would help, but sometimes that made the telepath more susceptible to the attack. Sometimes they were able to detect it faster. And of course she was trained for such things, but she hated it. Set her nerves off. She’d either get to point and go “GOTCHA!” or she’d be blabbering like an infant learning to talk. It was undignified.

“Alright let’s get ready to move, these people need help and we said we would give it. Eleyr, Andromeda, we’ll need security but please brief them on what they need to know. We don’t want to hurt someone just because they are confused.”

Atoded, 2O

“Commander should I come to so I can collect samples to see what’s in this bacterial stuff so we know what it is or if it is something commander?” He asked.

Lt. Slayer

OOC: So going off of what’s posted on the away team box on the MOTD you are listed as going. And for everyone else I’m not really sure how accurate that is. We are down a lot of crew. So we are all probably going to have to play ourselves and NEs…

IC: “Of course Lt. Get your gear and meet up with the away team in Transporter Room 2.”

Atoded, 2O

OOC: Of course.

IC: “Yes commander. I’ll go ahead and get that now.” As he said to the commander. He then went and got his gear and went into Transporter Room 2.

Lt. Slayer

Andromeda simply walked over to the medical panel on the bridge, taking out an extra medkit. “We hopefully won’t need both, but…” Better to be prepared.
-Andromeda, CMO

“Well doc it’s better safe then sorry to bring both. It could be a good help to all of us.” He said.

Lt. Slayer
