Admiral Ramirez’s familiar faced smiled as he saw the Captain in front of him. He took a little double take at the suspiciously brown stain on the comm chair but ignored it and turned his attention back to the Captain.

=^= Great to see you again Captain, how are things on the Constellation? =^= he asked as he took a sip of the Assam tea sat next to him. =^= I’ve heard about the great work you and your crew have been doing despite your sometimes…unorthodox methods? =^= he offered raising an eyebrow. Sipping his tea again, he jumped as his elderly cat Floss jumped up on the panel and proceeded to plonk herself directly in front of the screen and began purring loudly. All that Chris could see now was a blanket of fluff and the right tip of the Admiral’s ear. From behind the cat, the Admiral spoke again.

=^= Admiral, always a pleasure I trust you are well =^= the commanding officer began by saying in a polite welcoming manner. “thank you, sir, I think its certainly an interesting ship and crew one I am still getting to know” he went onto say.

=^= …purr…purr…done…purr…that…purr…purr…purr…shore…purr…might…purr…purr…purr…Eva…purr… =^= the Admiral’s hand swept across the screen and the cat rather ungracefully flew off the console with a disgruntled squawk.

=^= Apologies Captain, what I was trying to say was we at Star-Fleet Command think you have done a stellar job and we feel that some shore leave might be in order? We have just received word that a new pleasure resort planet has been opened called Evagen in the Selari system and we thought you would be the perfect crew to go and check it out? =^= he suggested with a jolly grin, ignoring the feline now pawing at his leg.

=^= Sounds like a plan Admiral what do you know about this place? =^= the captain enquired in a polite yet intrigued manner. Chris had never heard of this place and was excited to check it out and see what it was all about.

The Admiral reached into a pot on his desk and chucked a cat treat over the other side of the room to distract his feline friend.

=^= Not a lot actually, we had a promotional video sent out the other day which looked great. It boasts the biggest spa in the galaxy, multiple swimming pools including one under the midnight stars. There is a state of the art sports complex and there are many walks and hiking trails as well as 5 top class restaurants and 3 fully stocked bars as well as multiple holodecks and a theatre. It really does have something for everyone. If I could, I would join you myself, unfortunately Floss here doesn’t take too kindly to other people feeding her and I can’t afford another law suit… =^= he shot an icy glare at the cat who proceeded to jump on his lap and present her bottom in the Admiral’s face. Spitting fluff out of his mouth and shoving the cat on the floor the admiral grimaced.

=^= Now Admiral this sounds like a place I need to go =^= he began by saying moving on to release a chuckle following the Admirals comments regarding a law suit. =^= Its a shame you can not bring her with you I am sure we could find you both somewhere on the ship. =^= he went on to say.

At the security console, Cross was having a hard time holding in his laughter at both the poor Bob and the Admiral with his cat. He pretended to be looking down at his console and it’s readings while a wide grin showed on his face. He shook his head to himself. This ship was certainly never boring.

Cross Sec

Ensign Bob shuffled towards the turbolift door and saw Cross smiling at him. His bottom lip began to quiver as he realised he was going to be the laughing stock of the ship. He scooted over to Lt Cross and leant in so he could whisper. “Was that as bad as I thought it was?” he asked sincerely, a flicker of hope in his eyes that somehow this kind of thing happened all the time and he hadn’t just made a humongous fool of himself.

” Don’t worry, as soon as we get in the thick of things everyone will forget about it though perhaps its not a good idea to have a hot beverage on the bridge.” Cross whispered back giving the Ensign a sympathetic smile.

Cross Sec

At the same time, the Counselor walked onto the bridge to see all the activity. An admiral on the view screen....something about a cat, and an Ensign having,....er….troubles. Without saying a word the counselor took his seat.

Frogue

Ensign Bob sniffed and crept round to the side of Lt Frogue and asked quietly, “um, I’m sorry sir…do you happen to have a tissue?” he asked sheepishly.

“I was wondering if I could make an appointment with you as well,” he added looking at the sad console still dripping with black coffee,”…I think I may need some therapy…” he added then abruptly zipped his lip as he saw the Captain looking at him. Sensing he had probably outstayed his welcome on the bridge he shrank away and made a hasty retreat to the turbolift.

Before the counselor could reply to either question it seemed as if the Ensign was gone. Lt. Frogue made a mental note to make sure he contact this Ensign because he looked like he was having a real bad day.

Frogue

The captain remained silent allowing for the Admiral to reply.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

The Admiral took another sip of tea to get rid of the taste of cat in his mouth =^= So if you wouldn’t mind checking this Evagen out on behalf of star-fleet we would be most grateful. One thing to note though, there is a large amount of ionising radiation from a huge mineral deposit in the mountains so you won’t be able to use transporters, you will have to use shuttles. It may also have an effect on communications. We look forward to your report. =^= he added with a smile.

Smiling the counselor replied to the Captain, “That’s fine with me, I have been wanting to use my shuttle training for a while; maybe I could pilot one of the shuttles sir?”

Frogue

Cross raised an eyebrow not liking the sound of not being able to use transporters. “Captain, might I suggest that if we are not going to have the use of transporters for easy pull outs that we assign at least two security officers to accompany each shuttle?” He asked respectfully.

Cross Sec

The Admiral tapped a few buttons on his console.

=^=Here are the coordinates for the resort, they are expecting you in 2 days and are putting on a grand feast for your arrival so try not to be late.=^= the Admiral smiled and set his cup down.

=^=Enjoy your break everyone, we’ll see you in 3 weeks! Ramirez out.=^=

The screen promptly snapped back to the view screen as the communication ended.

Mother Hen (GM)

=^= Leave it to us, Admiral, we will get both the job done and have a little fun whilst we do =^= came the simple response from the captain who finished his cup of tea.

“Well Captain the good news is the crew will get a break; the bad news is we all have to break out the dress uniforms. Um, premission to skip the formal dinner sir?” said the counselor.

CNS

=^= Denied Councillor =^= came the swift response from the captain followed by an intake of breath. =^= If I have to go through a formal dinner then you all do =^= he went on to say.

Johnson, CO
OOC: Posting this into the correct thread.

IC: “I guess it is time to get my dress uniform out…I think I have one left…the last time I attended a ‘formal’ dinner it....um…did not turn out so well” responded the counselor.

CNS

Meanwhile one of the consoles on the bridge lifted up and Amze walked out from the tunnel behind it. “It has been awhile since I have dressed formally. The last time I did so everyone at the party ended up needing to get their eyes checked afterwards from all of the sparkles…”

Amze Ezma (XO)

Cross smiled quietly to himself, he rather liked dressing up as his tall, lithe form looked quite good in a dress uniform. And at least his dad had made sure he could dance quite well. He had said it was a necessity if one wanted to impress a woman. He was quite sure the XO would more then likely look quite elegant in a sparkly dress. He wondered what the propriety of dancing with senior officers was.

Cross Sec

Observing as the your Executive officer exit a small tunnel like exit Chris, the ships commanding officer spoke in a clear concise manner. “Enjoy taking the long way round” he asked watching the XO seal the Jeffrey’s tube hatch behind him. Peering around the bridge Christopher Johnson stood up and addressed the ships computer. =^= Computer call all Department Heads to the bridge for briefing =^= he spoke to the emotionless monotone computer.

Captain Chris Johnson, CO

Amze gave an innocent smile. “Of course sir, one can never check the Jeffrey’s enough. Who knows what kind of troublemakers may be hiding out there?”

Amze Ezma (XO)

Only a moment later the door to the turbolift opened and the mechanical voice of the Computer was informing the Science officer that he was needed on the Bridge “Oh am I?” He asked with a wicke smile “Well I’ll try to put some time in my schedule to make it to the bridge” His tone sarcastic and more than a little amused “Lieutenant Grey REporting for duty” He said with a half two-fingered salute as he moved to his station.

CSO

“Oh?” Khavo pressed two fingers to the bridge of her nose. In the rare instance she wasn’t on the bridge, it somehow found a way to summon her back to its waiting maw. “You little bugger,” She muttered, glaring at the computer complex. Huffing, she got to her feet, leaving her little project for another time. “Until next time, my dear friend.” She swung around the corner of the door, releasing her grip from the threshold. Minutes passed, and a tiny creature bimbled onto to bridge. “Wait! Don’t tell me. We’re being attached by space monkeys?” Sarcasm dripped from her lips, her small eyes alight with an unreadable emotion.

Khavo
COO

With everyone leaving the bridge Lt. Frogue said to himself…”I guess I will go to my office for now.” With that he got up and headed off the bridge.

Frogue

Amze nodded, her face solemn. “Yes we are, sadly we have determined that the only way for us to survive to to launch the Captain at them in a hollowed out photon torpedo shell.” She placed the back of her hand against her forehead. “Oh the inhumanity of it all.”

Amze Ezma (XO)

“How dreadful!” Khavo’s lips contorted into a deep frown, “Space monkeys love the dramatics, don’t they?” She huffed, shooting a glare at the view screen, as if half expecting to see beady, monket eyes staring back at her.

Khavo
COO

“Who doesn’t, dramatics are the core of entertainment and monkeys are the epitome of culture” James said quite seriously.

CSO

Peter continued to monitor as he performed routine security scans of the area of space they were travelling in. He heard the banter going on with the crew around him and glanced toward the CO wondering why no one was reacting to the call he made in commanding the Senior Officers to the bridge for the staff meeting.

Cross Sec

Amze placed her hand on Cross’s shoulder reassuringly before shaking her head. “I think the space monkeys have devoured the other department heads. It is now up to me to replace them with useful puppe.. I mean people fit for the job…”
