The mouse squeaked “Hurry. We must Hurry. The queen’s changing of the guard will be happening shortly, then our opportunity will have to wait until the next change.” She said as she picked up her pace, which wasn’t hard to do as she just dropped to all four paws, the others following her would have to speed up slightly to keep up with her. After several more minutes the group exited the heavy forest to an opening with a large hedge surrounding what could only be described as a castle, with a very large mountain standing behind it.

The Mouse stopped suddenly “There, there is where we need to be. At the base of the mountain.” She squeaked “There is a building there that controls everything.” She said “We only have to get through them....” She pointed to a bunch of guards that stood around the perimeter of the grounds looking very mean and well armed.

Emily came to a stop and looked at the area “Well, how hard can that be.” She asked mostly to herself as she took in the surroundings and then caught sight of what might be a shield emitter underneath one of the bushes.

Gong’Da was basically running to keep up and was not pleased. Panting when they stopped he looked at everything. “Question Mouse. Why do we have to wait for the changing of the guards? That means there will be twice as many guards here and half of them fresh for battle. Why can’t we just walk around the castle to get to the mountain?” He was still panting and thankful for the long and sturdy stick he picked up to keep him upright.

“It’s never that easy, Doctor.” Aaron said, squinting slightly, spotting the same thing Emily saw. “Bradford, how fast can you drop the shields from that emitter?”

Aaron Michaels, CO

Emily was kneeling in front of the emitter “A matter of seconds Captain. Unfortunately, they are on a closed circuit. I disable this one, it will alert who knows that the emitter has failed and looking through the hedge, there really isn’t anywhere for us to hide.” She said “It might be better if we get closer to our destination before we start monkeying with the shield emitters.” Emily said looking up at Aaron.

“I fear that if we’d try to walk around the castle we’d lose you half the way through, doctor” James added, only half-joking.

Byr’s antennae went stiff straight when he saw the guards, as he became more alert. Once they stiffined, the tips of his antannae led in towards the guards to see if he could tell what species these guards were, without giving away their own position.

The Mouse looked at the others “What..no…you have to get over to the mountain first…they will kill you.” She squeaked “We have to get out of here.” She looked around nervously “The guards, they will kill you.. those swords are real.”

Mouse

Aaron’s jaw clenched. “Fine. We’ll move over the mountain. At guard change drop the emitter. It might cause enough chaos to give us a few moments.”

Aaron Michaels, CO

Byr kept an eye out for good scouting positions, where there were potential places to get ready, and also scanned the various flora and fauna that came near to make sure it was all catologued for the ship.

“I really wish I’d worn my hiking shoes, or my sneaking-past-armed-guards shoes.” James looked at his feet “Starfleet shoes aren’t exactly designed for this” He said just to say something.

CSO

“Well I will just let the professionals handle the sneaking and shooting and I will take care of any of you that are not as good in it like you thought you were.” He said quietly.

Gong’Da CMO

James looked back at the Doctor then back at the view “Well at least I have that to look forward to.”
