Avik glanced at Dvorak briefly, but didn’t say a word. It would be clear she held doubt in the safety of their officer’s new friend back on the base. From what information they had collected, there some things unsettlingly wrong there.

Johann frowned at this. He wished he had known about it before they left the base, but his orders would have been unlikely to change anyway.

No, he thought. That has to be their problem, and they have professionals who are capable of handling it. We need to find out wherever it is that these… ‘predators’… are coming from.

“That’s odd that you felt it too, actually,” Johann observed. “Have you noticed anything like that happening again since your conversation?”

Abrams shook her head. “No, can’t say I have. I don’t know if it was just something there, or Archie, or just me feeling empathetic and protective of him,” she said with a shrug .It was just an instinct on her part that made her want to make sure they weren’t standing around with a potential ambush about to happen. She wasn’t normally the paranoid type though, so… who knew.

The Captain seemed to ponder this carefully for a moment.

“If you notice anything like that, let us know.” The order was odd for its non-specificity.

Cass nodded. “Understood, Captain.” At least her observations were taken seriously. It would have been easy for someone to dismiss them as a trick of the mind, but then again, Dvorak had never been dismissive type of commanding officer, so it made no sense for him to be so now.

Madison sat at her station listening to the conversation and going over the power systems to make sure that everything was in order and ready to go. She paid special attention to the engines, shields and weapons. The main things that they would need in an emergency.

Madison continued to monitor the main systems, she began working on finding a way to prevent further attacks on the computers. She was still confused as to why they only went through the food files, that just didn’t make sense to me.

OOC: You should probably be looking at this thread in Engineering, if you haven’t already seen it… though idk if that’s happening at the same time as this: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf6/europa/notes/27851/

IC: The same thought that had crossed Madison’s mind also had crossed the Captain’s, but he didn’t speak of it. The alarming thing was that it was also a precursor to what was listed in the secret report from the Admiral. Though, in thinking about the report, he also had a brief flash of memory about… something…

He looked over at Avik and leaned in closely, speaking quietly so that nobody else on the Bridge could clearly hear.

“In the report, there were some names… it said the meaning was unknown. Did you run a computer check on any of them?”

– Johann Dvorak, CO

Keeping tabs on the readouts on her console, Abrams double checked that there wasn’t anything of concern in the vicinity.
