“Unknown,” was the very unhelpful reply. But then again, most of the computer systems were still inoperable.

“Hmm,” Marsh couldn’t help but be disappointed. However that was still information. It indicated that the self-destruct was terminated by a means that was not typical.

Cassidy looked over her shoulder. “I’m going to step off of the bridge and check out the situation in the adjacent corridors. I won’t go far, but Europa, track my movements. I’ve got a tricorder, but let me know if you pick up anything unusual.”

=/\= Acknowledged, =/\= came the Captain’s voice over her communicator.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

“You coming with or did you want to try to get more data out of the computer?” she asked Marsh.

Abrams, COS

“I’ll set up an uplink to the Europa. Then we can study the information at our leisure.” He looked at her. They were here for a while already and hadn’t been attacked so it was unlikely that there was anything on the ship that continued to be intentionally dangerous. However the unintended dangers still existed. He knew of a crewmember that had a tiger as a pet… that would be a really unintended danger.

“Give me a sec and I’ll join you.” Marsh was done a few moments after that. “Lets go.”

Cassidy gave a single nod and moved to the exit to the corridor. Crouching and opening the storage compartment, she found the emergency hand actuator that was stored there on all vessels. They wouldn’t be able to go far with the lack of power throughout the ship, but at least they could take a peek on this deck.

Affixing the actuator, Abrams pressed a couple buttons and heard the door lock click in release. Then she pulled. The doors parted slightly and she pulled harder, forcing it to open more. “Good thing we’re not trying to go to Engineering or something,” she said dryly. With another pull, it released fully and slid open.

Marsh grabbed one side of the door and gave it a shove, the machinery behind the door constantly resisted the movement of the panels even if the door was unlocked. It was a glitch in the design that so rarely was a problem no one ever fixed it.

They already knew there were no lifesigns on the ship, so in her head she was prepared that if they came across anyone they were casualties. But on the other hand, this was her parents’ crew and they were akin to family and there was only so much she could do to brace herself.

The light of her palm beacon cut a swatch through the darkness. She didn’t see anything or anyone immediately she shivered. “Okay, not going to lie, this is creepy.” She turned to Steven. “Do we want to check out any of the meeting rooms?” It was Deck One, so she didn’t expect to find much up here. On other decks, sure, but it would take ages to comb through a low powered ship.

Abrams, COS

“We really should check sick bay, the lounge and engineering, two of them are emergency rally points and something might have been left behind that is useful. And there almost is always something in engineering.” Marsh offered. He had his phaser out and set on stun, with his other hand holding the tricorder. Good defensive preparation was the only way to keep from getting dead.
