“Signal both of them with the location where we think Tian An Men’s crew is, and let’s have them form up with us at the earliest possiblity while en route. Let’s fly formation until we know where this other ship is.”

“Yes, Sir,” Zorell responded, setting about to send the messages asap.

=^=Marsh to Europa, we have all we need for now. Two to beam home.=^=

Marsh

=/\= Acknowledged. Stand by for transport. =/\=

=/\= Transporter Room, beam the Away Team back immediately. =/\=

– Johann Dvorak, CO

Within a minute, the transporter room replied. =/\=Away team is back=, Captain.=/\=

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

Marsh walked up to the bridge trying to figure out a quick way to sum up what they had learned. As he reached the bridge he started reporting as the doors opened.

“Captain on Stardate 19032.4 an unknown ship with an unknown crew boarded the TAM, the Captain was injured, but still in command ordered a self destruct and abandon ship despite having a 2 to 1 advantage due to the enemies’ superior firepower. Causalities found on the Tien An Mien were minimal so there might be a lot of crew still alive. They found a nearby planet, about two hours at impulse. Habitable, but barely. so that make the number of options very low.” Marsh wandered over to his sensors.

“And bingo, As I suspected there are only two options, and I think based on drift, and description, it is an unnamed system. Stellar Body, SB-481. Eight minutes at warp 5.”

Marsh

“Helm, plot that course,” the Captain ordered.

“Aye sir…” the nameless ensign at the helm acknowledged.

“It matches with the planet we have on sensors that seemed most likely,” Vora said. “The Fermi and the Brahe are rendezvousing with us en route.” Her gaze drifted to Cassidy, who was unusually, if understandably, quiet. Her gaze held an unspoken, are you okay?

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

Abrams gave a slight half-shrug though she kept her expression neutral. “We should have someone else in the search group do recovery. And we should let them know they’ll need EVA gear for most places. Life support was spotty.”

Abrams, COS

“We’ll pass that along,” the Captain said, the only indication that he considered Abram’s wish not to go back there. “But we’re going to fly formation until we’ve determined where their attackers went. Did you get any additional indication of who they were or why they didn’t finish the ship off?”

Meanwhile, on the view screen, a fancy looking three dimensional map of nearby space appeared. The Europa’s path through it to the planet Marsh had indicated was rendered with a simple animation that ended with a contented “beep.”

“Course plotted,” the helmsman said.

Marsh looked at the projected planet, “Seems likely. I don’t think we should wait for support.”

Marsh

“Engage warp engines,” the Captain ordered.

Even though the screen was not tuned to visual, everyone could tell that the ship had jumped to warp speed as ordered.

— Johann Dvorak, CO

“We’ll have answers soon enough.” Marsh said to the bridge, but it really was directed to Abrams. “I have a general scan going, the impulse trails of dozens of life pods should be easy enough to detect.” And evidence that they were right, and while that was important to him, he really was scanning for another warp capable pirate ship. He wasn’t going to let the Europa fall into the same trap that befell the Tien An Mein.

“We should already be in hailing range.”

Marsh.
