SNIP

“Stand by sir.” The NE at the science station said, she tried the transporter again. “Sir, I can lock on the coolant sensor, but the device is interfering with the transporter. I am attempting to compensate.” The NE was inexperienced at this, but was trying her best. “I am trying to beam the whole thing into space.” She said strained as she attempted to work the transporter.

“I think I got it!” She exclaimed as she continued to work the controls.

Dvorak stood (if he wasn’t already) and took two steps over to the science station to watch what the officer there was doing.

Everything that happened next happened very quickly. Dvorak heard the NE shout “I got it, transport in progress.” as the words came out of her mouth, someone else cried out in warning. “Captain!” Before Dvorak could even process was the was going on, he felt the brunt force of a tackle, the wind nearly getting knocked out of him as he hit the deck. He felt the weight of someone else land on top of him. The sound of a phaser firing near where he was standing. He heard a scream from the NE at the science station. He heard another phaser blast hit a console. The console exploded and a body hit the deck. Someone else on the bridge returned fire at who ever fired first. There was a muted flash on the bridge, then silence.

-GMT

Damn, Dvorak thought. He didn’t see who had tackled him, or why, but he didn’t need to in order to know that his life was probably still in immediate danger. There was no time to remain planted on the deck face first, or ask whoever was on top of him–Did they fall? he wondered–to move aside.

He tried to draw the type-1 hand phaser that he kept inside his uniform’s waistband with his right hand, while simultaneously pushing against the deck with his left in an attempt to flip himself over to face whatever the threat here was. The hope was he would have some sort of shot, if only for an instant, if he needed it.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

The body that Dvorak pushed off of him was NE Weaver. He had a phaser burn on his back shoulder, he was alive, barely. The NE at tactical was holding his type 2 phaser towards the Engineering control station. The science console had been hit with a phaser blast, the NE at the science station was on the ground, console burns and shrapnel on her face and upper body.

“Captain, are you alright?” The NE at tactical said, running over to him. He helped him get NE Weaver off of him.

-GMT

“Yes,” he said. Can’t have been the shooter, he thought regarding the man moving towards him. Aiming the wrong way. He thus decided not to fire his own phaser and instead focus on getting NE Weaver off of himself.

“I’ve got that,” he said as he lifted himself off of the floor, giving Weaver an unceremonious shove in the process. Sorry, he thought. Please don’t die yet.

“Where’s the one at Engineering?” he asked.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

“I don’t know sir, the crewman at the engineering console raised his phaser at you. He hit NE Weaver then fired at the science station before vanishing in a muted flash of light.” the tactical NE said as he looked around the bridge.

“Assume he’s still here, but invisible,” the Captain said. “Keep your eyes up.”

Where can I get a tricorder? he thought. I’ll have one brought here…

=/\= Bridge to Security =/\= the Captain said as he slapped his commbadge. =/\= Armed intruder on Main Bridge. We need more security, a medical team, and a science tricorder. =/\=

=^= Bridge are you seeing any changes in the coolant flow up there?=^= She asked =^=It appears the device has been successfully transported away.=^= She added remaining where she was because she didn’t trust that it was actually gone just yet. Not aware that there had been an incident on the Bridge.

-GMT

=/\= Sullivan, the Engineering Bridge station is no longer operational. You’ll have to check with Main Engineering. =/\=

They might have people there too, he thought.

— Johann Dvorak, CO

=^=Understood Captain. I will stop by main engineering before I come up to the Bridge to repair that station.=^= She said =^=Sensor has been installed and should be working.=^=

CE

An NE ran up to the captain, tricorder in hand. “Sir, I found one in the storage locker under the aft station.” He said, handing him the tricorder. He looked around the bridge concerned, a glint of fear in his eyes.

“Great, thanks,” the Captain said quickly. He took the tricorder in his left hand and opened it by flicking his wrist. He did so with the sort of casual-looking effort that came with having done that particular gesture many times. He kept his phaser in his right hand.

Upon opening the tricorder, the only thing out of the ordinary that the tricorder was picking up was some nuclear vibrations near the back of the bridge where the attacker was last seen, as well as evidence of a phaser fight and the associated effects of said fight.

-GMT

“Well, that’s odd,” Johann thought aloud as he kept looking at the pattern of nuclear vibrations. He idly wondered about whether or not it would be possible to adjust his occular implants to visualize the vibrations in some sort of pattern without needing to use the tricorder. Though that would be only possible if the vibrations would register in the infrared or ultraviolet frequency ranges.

Mattie arrived on the bridge, engineering kit in hand along with an extra tricorder and a phaser. As she stepped off the lift she looked around the bridge and grumbled as she moved to the closest damaged console.

It took Vora more time than she would have liked to get to the bridge, even though the left astrometrics in a hurry and arrived farther down the deck in record time. Stepping onto the bridge, she slipped over to the science console to check what the status was while shooting Johann concerned looks.

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

“Zorrell, check external sensors for any possible threats,” he said somewhat coolly while only briefly looking in her direction.

Mattie was kneeling in front of the engineering station working on repairing it. She had glanced up when Vora arrived and she was also listening to what was going on in main engineering, ensuring that the repair to the coolant line had held and that there were no other issues going on. She had someone scanning for more devices like the one that had been on the coolant line.

CE

“Sullivan,” the Captain said. “Do you actually mind leaning over to your right real quick?” There was a beep-beep from his phaser as his thumb pressed the button to adjust the power to its least destructive, lowest possible setting.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

Mattie leaned to her right and glanced back at Johann “What’s going on?” She asked recognizing the sound of the phaser power button. She was wondering if Johann had lost his mind or if there was something else going on that she couldn’t see. Which based on how the day had shaped up thus far....was a distinct possibility.
