Hello Everyone,
Related to other recent news, there have been a lot of discussions regarding ship speeds lately. Some people in higher club have questioned whether or not the club can continue to adequately support the concept of a “Fast” ship as currently defined with AWOL limits of 2/3/4, because it’s really hard to find GMs who are willing to play at that speed. There are also questions about how the club ought to define the concept of ship speed generally, in relation some things the Personnel Department wants to talk about in Command over the next month or two.
So, given that, I just wanted to take everyone’s temperature on whether you guys still want to stay at Fast speed or whether you’d be OK with a different speed. Nobody making us change and I don’t think anyone is planning to change the ship speed at this time, but since it’s going to be talked about for the next few months I want to make sure I know where you all stand on the question.
Personally, I really like it when it works, but I know it also hasn’t really been working lately. I think we’re going to fix that this time, but I don’t know that we’ll always be able to. It’s part of what makes the ship special, but after all of these years what makes the ship really special to me is the rest of you, so… if you guys wanted to change it I wouldn’t be necessarily opposed to it.
Anyway, just let me know what you think. You don’t necessarily have to post your opinion here if you don’t want to.
