“Yeah, I’ll ask her about it when we go over the psych evaluation results also,” he said. That was usually done at the same time as performance reviews, so it would be easy enough to double check that.

“I think she happens to be the next one on the list too, actually. Did you see her application for Bridge officer training?”

— Johann Dvorak, CO

“Good.” Avik looked down at the Counselor’s data, noting the application.

“Considering her situation and fact this is basics for an XO, I’m not surprised. She will need these skills to portray her role and perform in key situations. If you’re worried about suspicions rising, XOs do take refresher courses throughout their careers. I could take my next scheduled one with her if you wish?” She didn’t mind, either way. Her eyes watched him for his reaction.

“Suspicions about what?” He asked. Although everyone might not have heard the story of which universe the Siennadye Nox they were talking about came from, it wasn’t a secret. Unless she means something else… he thought.

Avik fought not to shake her head. Command didn’t make Nox’s story public and the crew wasn’t supposed to know, but the XO believed they did. Even if they didn’t know the full details. They weren’t a dull group. It didn’t mean that the CO and she could be open about it.

“Even if most of the crew is aware she is different, we’re still required to treat as a secret. This means making everything look normal.” Avik stated bluntly.

OOC: I think we need to have a little chat with Amber about this, because I don’t remember this the same way you do and now I’m confused as to what the secret status ought to be or not be.

” I haven’t noticed any issues with her adjusting to the ship, have you?”

–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr

“I did notice something… which prompted her application, actually. I asked her to take the conn last week. Purely out of habit. Apparently that… might have made her more than a bit upset. Reminded her that she isn’t the one who was here before. I don’t think it was that big of a deal in the grad scheme of things, but… there might be some issues there still.”

“You should still do the course with her. You’ll probably need to sign off on her results anyway, so it would probably be good for you to observe her closely.”

— Johann Dvorak, CO

“I agree. From the few times I interacted with her, I don’t think I exist in her timeline. This means I’m less likely to draw memories or create issues.” She wrote down a reminder to make the arrangments. Her head turned back to him.

“We’re getting to the bottom of the list, who’s next?”

–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr

“Umm…” he said looking the list over. He then seemed to adopt a bemused expression.

“Did we talk about Marsh? For some reason I can’t find him on the list here. Where’s Marsh?”

OOC: And thus, the running “Where’s Marsh?” gag is now updated for 2020.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

Avik tilted her head subtly. Her right eyebrow arched to indicate slight confusion before she spoke.

“Yes, I believe we have. There was a hint of concern, but nothing too major. We’ve also covered the chief medical officer, chief of security, and now the counselor. What remains are the chief science officer and chief engineer.” Her fingers darted across the data pad to ensure she was correct.
