“Zorrell, check external sensors for any possible threats,” he said somewhat coolly while only briefly looking in her direction.

“Already on it,” Vora replied.

The external sensors didn’t reveal any ships or other threats in the area. A large asteroid was orbiting the system about 2/3’s of the way from the center of the system in a symmetrical orbit. The sensors seemed to indicate that it was the source of the radiation that was blocking their sensors. However, the radiation in the system was preventing more detailed scans of the system.

Mattie was kneeling in front of the engineering station working on repairing it. She had glanced up when Vora arrived and she was also listening to what was going on in main engineering, ensuring that the repair to the coolant line had held and that there were no other issues going on. She had someone scanning for more devices like the one that had been on the coolant line.

“Sullivan,” the Captain said. “Do you actually mind leaning over to your right real quick?” There was a beep-beep from his phaser as his thumb pressed the button to adjust the power to its least destructive, lowest possible setting.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

Mattie leaned to her right and glanced back at Johann “What’s going on?” She asked recognizing the sound of the phaser power button. She was wondering if Johann had lost his mind or if there was something else going on that she couldn’t see. Which based on how the day had shaped up thus far....was a distinct possibility.

Johann pressed the trigger on his phaser, firing at what he could tell was the center of the apparently-humanoid shaped nuclear vibrations.

Looking over any sensor data coming in, Zorell quickly began to analyze both the data and their situation.

Sienna stepped forward as the doors of the turbolift opened and stopped instantly as she watched Johann aim and shoot at what simply seemed to be thin air. The red alert had drawn her to the Bridge but now she wondered if she was in the wrong place.

“Captain, we’ve got a large asteroid orbiting the system,” Vora reported. “It’s the most likely source of the interference, but I’m not able to get clearer scans to confirm it. I’m going to try modulating the sensor suite to see if we can cut through a bit more and clear thing up,” she said.

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

“Go for it,” he said, keeping most of his attention on what it was that he just shot at.

– Johann Dvorak, CO

“On it,” Zorell replied, adjusting the sensors to see if she could get more clearer readings.

She knew there was an away team and decided her best bet was to go to the communications station and see if there was anything from them missed in the chaos of the Bridge. In the meantime, she stretched out with her senses to ascertain if there was a hidden person or entity on board that the Captain was firing at.

Nox, CNS

When the captain fired his phaser at the outline of the person, it hit what appeared to be some sort of shield, which emitted a white muted flash. When the flash subsided the figure of a large humanoid with grey skin, covered in what looked like ritualistic tattoos appeared. A glow on the shoulder of the humanoid indicated that the phaser blast had penetrated what ever shield he was covered in, but didn’t do enough damage to kill or stun the alien.

Even though the Captain had been shooting at something he was seeing, it was still a surprise to see the entity appear after it was hit. The alien did not look like any species she had ever seen. It didn’t look too damaged by the phaser blast though.

Mattie was startled “What in the …” She exclaimed and reached out toward the being but her hand passed through thin air “Captain?” She asked confused as to how he had know this being was there.

The Alien, roared loudly before tapping a device on his arm, causing him to disappear again in a muted white flash. Nox could sense rage, hatred and fear coming from the alien. When the flash subsided, Dvorak implants couldn’t see him any longer. He was no longer on the bridge.

=^= “Avik to Europa, come in.”=^= Came a call from the away team.

“Captain.” And NE called out. “We are receiving a priority one communication from Starbase 51.”

OCC: we can separate these two conversations so that don’t happen at the same time if you wish.

Vora immediately dashed to the nearby emergency stow where weapons were kept on the bridge and grabbed a phaser. Heart racing (and to this day loathing holding a weapon in her hand) she set it to stun and pointed it at the… whatever it was that was apparently still on their bridge. She wasn’t going to fire unless it tried to attack them or she was given an order to.

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

Mattie stayed where she was, a spanner in her hand, not much of a weapon but it could cause damage is utilized correctly.

CE

The alien’s emotions were strong and very negative. She sensed his anger, hatred, and fear and wondered if it had been caused by the Captain hitting it or had the Alien felt this way before coming to the Ship? Either way, she could sense that it was no longer here and turned to Johann. “Whatever it was, its not here anymore Captain.”
