Knowing that there were injured that likely be arriving and that the CMO was on the surface, Sickbay was a quiet hive of activity in preparation.

“Keep replicating hyronalin doses, we’re going to need at least one per person down there,” Ensign Mills called out.

“On it,” Crewman Dahedler called out from the back.

As preparations happened in Sick Bay, a figure approached in a brisk and determined pace. She wore the red shirt of command and indicating her status as the XO. Avik’s hair wrapped tightly into a bun at the nape of her neck, the few straying strands tucked behind her long ears. The door hissed when she made her way in and stepped to the side. She surveyed the activity for a few silent seconds until she made a request.

“Can someone update me on the situation?” Avik was unafraid of the impression it might give to her crew. For a while, she had been unavailable for undisclosed reasons. Her contact with the rest of the ship had been rather limited until now.

“The Tien Mian was lost in space and destroyed a week ago. Her crew has since landed on a low radiation planet, but given their length of stay they will certainly have radiation and injuries related from escaping a destroyed starship.”

Marsh leaned in close to the commander, “In related news, both Abrams’ mother and father are senior officers… and her father is grievously injured… Sir.”

Three medical staff from the Tian An Men appeared with the first of their most critical. Behind them, the rather bedraggled form of a woman in command red with three solid pips appeared. She looked over Marsh and sussed out quickly that Avik was someone she needed to speak with. She approached, though she cast a quick glance back at a badly injured man in a medical blue uniform. “Commander Norene Abrams, First Office, Tian An Men,” she said with a brisk nod to Avik before she gestured to a woman being moved to a biobed. “Captain Massey has been in a coma for several days, so I’m your point-person,” she said simply.
