The Europa faded away in the familiar shimmer of transport. Arriving on the Klingon ship was eerie. It was quiet, save for the occasional beeping of a console coming from the bridge. The corridor they found themselves in was dark, lit in red. To the group’s right, there was a door to the bridge. To their left, the corridor split left and right. So far no security system had been activated.

Avik let the familiar tingling subside as she opened her eyes and took stock of her surroundings. No signs of life. It was the first thing she noticed as the dull hum of the engines filled her ears, evidence of what she already knew. Her fear caused the hairs on her neck to rise upright before she pressed them down and swallowed it. Her head turned to the CoS indicating she was following the woman’s lead.

Lia immediately began glancing around as they shimmered into existence on the Klingon ship. One of her hands reflexively rested on the phaser at her hip as she looked expectantly at the COS and the XO to see where they were going to head first, rocking her weight from foot to foot in anticipation of beginning their study.

Once they’d been reassembled from their constituent atoms, Franklin pulled his tricorder and opened it. “Running scans now, Sir,” Franklin drawled to Avik. “Looking for any kind of security programs that might give us trouble…” He took a step toward the bridge in the dim red lighting, reading the results of his ongoing scan. He punched in a few commands, checking for operational security protocols, internal sensor alerts, and weapons systems attached to internal ship security. Franklin might come off as a country hick, but he knew his business and didn’t want to take chances with their safety.

He also began trying to get an interlink set up, to interface his tricorder with the ship’s computer.

Cassidy, weapon drawn, stepped forward and eyed the corridor to their left, ears keenly listening for anything out of the ordinary as her eyes skimmed surfaces. “So far so good,” she said, moving towards the bridge door. She stopped and nodded to Franklin. “Give me the low-down on the systems before we enter,” she said.

Looking over her shoulder she gestured with her head. “Adrie, take up the rear,” Abrams instructed. So far she was alert but at ease.

Lia nodded, her body language mimicking that of her superior’s in that she was not overly anxious, but taking care to be aware of her surroundings. She kept one ear tuned toward Franklin’s report as she glanced about in a methodical fashion.

Avik stood calmly in place. Her breath slow and steady as she took stock of the surroundings. Already the selected team had begun to click into their duties without orders. A fact she admired because it saved her energy for other things.

The XO nodded at Franklin then watched the CoS move into the leadership role. Currently, Avik lacked the knowledge in this situation and took a step back for the CoS to take charge. The crew knew what they were doing.

Continuous scans showed no signs of danger. Movement triggered no traps, alarms, and not A soul appeared.

Franklin looked up from his tricorder and glanced back at Abrams and Avik, his free hand moving to his tool kit. “I’m not picking up any active security protocols, it looks like we’re safe to poke around. Unless you’ve got other orders, I’m going to try and get into the Main Computer and see if I can pull logs and internal sensor data.” He moved onto the bridge proper and made his way to the engineering station and began to run translations of the text on the monitor.
