As soon as she appeared on the Klingon vessel, she took her place between Abrams and Adrie… She had not yet had the pleasure of evaluating the young woman. Sienna made a mental note to make that appointment when she got back to the Europa. Then her entire focus was on the mission. She wasn’t needed yet, so she kept her eye out for signs and information, comparing them to the Klingon language database in her PaDD.

Having followed the group onto the bridge, Lia remained by the entrance to the room, shifting so that she could keep an eye on the door they had entered through while allowing the COS to clear the room. She listened with interest to hear what the engineer would find; hopefully it would provide some concrete guidance as to their next actions on board the ship.

Adrie, Sec

Franklin seemed engrossed in his findings as he came to update Avik. “Log looks pretty normal for a patrol ship, but then it just stops. No mention of why. Just no further entries… and it stops march 26th, 2274 by our calendar. Which means this ship has bee running like this for a hundred and twenty years…”

-Franklin

Not taking her eyes off the space, Cass considered the new tidbit of information. “What happened in 2274? That’s a few years after the whole incident with V’Ger, right? And The Klingons’ alliance with Romulan broke up before that point.” She couldn’t think of anything off the top of her head that was significant about that date. Then again, maybe the date didn’t matter at all. Still, all this time. Figuring out what happened to the crew could be rather important.

Abrams, COS

“I think it is, but it doesn’t mean that’s the cause. We know one thing for sure. Something happened around that date, even if we don’t know what it is. We’ll only find out by looking for more data to confirm anything.” Avik stated, finding the information interesting. Since she didn’t dub in engineering, her mind couldn’t fathom how this ship could keep running.

She turned to the CoS. “I don’t think we’ll gain all the answers from the data logs. Should we start expanding our search?”

–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr

Cassidy nodded. “I think we should be okay to do so.”

“One Hundred and Twenty-Two years is a long time…” Franklin drawled, half to himself as he poured over the last few log entries again. “I’m still waiting on my program to give me internal sensor data, the internal and external sensor logs ought to give us another clue. I’ll let you know as soon as the software returns a finding.” Franklin patted the tricorder and set it on a console where he began working on getting access to the ship’s main computer. He looked over one shoulder at Avik and the COS. “Sirs, I think we’re probably clear from a security standpoint, but it might be helpful to get someone to check out Sickbay and see if they can pull any pertinent medical data.”

-Franklin

Lia shifted her weight from side to side as she listened to the back and forth between the three other away team members. She had tried to take a moment to recall her history classes, but her mind had drawn a blank as she had purged that information long ago, once the classes were complete. As Franklin suggested that they split up, her attention quickly went back to the XO and the COS, eager to have something to do other than standing here, but not wanting to be forward enough to demand to accompany them. They might not even want that to be the plan, after all.

Adrie, Sec

All sensor logs, once gathered and translated, seemed normal.

-GM Orchestrator

Sienna worked with Franklin in case he needed translation. “Nothing seems out of the ordinary. Sensors are not showing anything anomalous. Franklin, can we find out what protocol caused this ship to fire on ours? Surely it must be running some kind of automated program?”

Nox, CNS

“I’d assume it was a proximity protocol to keep anyone from getting close, but there don’t seem to be any operational internal security programs currently online… Otherwise, we’d probably have been scrambled as we beamed over, or vaporized once we got here.” Franklin Answered Nox in his peculiar folksy accent, his blue eyes still reading the tricorder as he tried to get main computer access.

“An auto-program wouldn’t be unreasonable given that at the time, the Federation and Klingons weren’t exactly on friendly terms,” Abrams noted.

Gazing at Avik, Cassidy was thoughtful. “While I am not keen on people splitting up, it seems okay for the moment to do so. I suggest Engineering, and Sickbay, Va’rek suggested. Ensign Adrie and I can split between the two places. We’ll just have to see where the trail of bread crumbs leads us for now.”

Abrams, COS

Franklin’s eyebrows rose at Abrams’ comment. “So far, ain’t much in the way of breadcrumbs to follow… I’m runnin’ outta ideas until I get a better look at her Main Engineering section.”

-Franklin

Lia glanced around the bridge of the ship as she maintained her quiet alertness, although her attention perked when she heard her name. While it was unlikely they would look to her for affirmation, she found herself nodding in agreement Abrams’ plan and rocking forward on the balls of her feet, as if to listen even more closely for where the next orders would take her.

Adrie, Sec

“Indeed. I agree, I’m hoping by covering more ground we might find more clues to what happened. Right now, it just seems like the whole crew just vanished.” Avik commented, but her tone didn’t seem to accept the theory. Not yet at least.

“I’ll be more useful in Sickbay as I was once a Chief Medical Officer. I can’t read Klingon, but I do know their anatomy and most of their tools. If something terrible did happen before the data log stopped, Sickbay might have records over it.” She didn’t bother stating that the era differences might affect her understanding. Technology did evolve over time as she learned through numerous medical articles.

–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr

Cassidy nodded. “So Ensign Adrie, why don’t you and Va’rek head to engineering. And myself, and Commander Avik and Lieutenant Nox can head to Sickbay. Let’s also keep an open channel.”

Abrams also considered the other important detail and addressed the XO. “We should also check0in with the ship and let them know we’re one the move and splitting up. I’d like them to keep a signal trace on us at all times.” Probably unnecessary, but the more things seemed weirdly normal here (despite the unusual circumstances), the more she felt a measure of anxiety growing. Her mind was operating at yellow alert for sure.
