Abrams waved off the tricorder, letting Trenton keep using it. Technology was fallible and so were people. She was hoping to eliminate the errors inherent in both but right now it didn’t seem the time to stop and explain all that. “That also presumes it’s in an accessible position. The safest access will actually be through the doors, if we can get them open, and using the service ladders.” Abrams offered a reassuring glance. “It’s actually pretty hard to dislodge a turbolift. And we can initiate a maintenance cycle to prevent it from moving either way while we are in there.” At least the focus on more practical problems was helping quell the uneasiness that had settled into her body.

Shifting her gaze backwards, she looked for Fayth. “Any more we didn’t detect?” she called out.

Abrams, COS

Fayth had checked the 3 officers they had first encountered, made sure they were stable and had them transported off to sickbay on deck 6. She’d grabbed her kit, and a rebreather, and headed down the corridor, carefully, checking her tricorder as she went, after Abrams and Trenton. She looked at the security Lt. “According to the tricorder, that’s it. There is a better way, more accurate way to find out where they are.” She glanced at Trenton. “I”m Betazoid, Lt. I can, with extreme accuracy, find anyone on this ship. I can tell you exactly where they are. Unless of course they are strong enough to block me to their presence. It doesn’t require me to read their thoughts or emotions. Just to know that they are there. (OOC: Troi did this multiple times and this shouldn’t invade anyone’s privacy IC and again if they are choosing to block her she won’t ‘notice’ them anyway). As you said, technology can be faulty and give false readings. With your permission, Lt. There is very little to no risk to me.”

Cassidy nodded. “By all means, do,” she said lightly as they moved along the deck.

While the two officers argued over how best to find people, Ashlyn quietly pulled back and continued to move down the corridor. They were still in a crisis and needed to move forward, once they decide how best to do that they can catch up later. Ashlyn hated that she didn’t know the best way to defuse that situation, but standing around certainly wasn’t going to help anyone else. For the time being, she continued to use the Tricorder.

Fayth would be able to note the two presences towards the turbolift and in fact, one was radiating a significant amount of pain. The rest of the deck seemed to be clear.

Moving along, Cassidy caught up to Trenton. She was once again focused and had managed to lock down her emotions more strongly

Abrams, COS

Sharah caught up to Ashlyn and was feeling the deck around her for people when she suddenly grabbed Ashlyns arm, hard. “Turbo lift. Two of them, someone’s hurt.” Her voice sound strained, there was A LOT of pain, and she had to work to pull her empathy back where it connected suddenly. She got her head clear and looked at Abrams. “Someone’s REALLY hurt. I need you to find me a safe way down. If the amount of pain is any indication the person won’t be able to move with out medical aid.” She ‘listened’ again to the deck and out, “I don’t sense anyone else.”

Ashlyn stopped long enough to hold onto her friend to provide a grounding point if needed to help get her focus back, the Conference loud and encouraging to try to drown out some of the pain being experienced. “It’s okay Sharah, I’ve got you.” Ashlyn would gesture toward a door with her chin. “Jeffries Tube access point, it’ll allow us to get above the Turbolift so we can cut our way in without having to damage a door or risk accidentally dislodging it. How soon can we get engineering here?”

Sharah nodded. The protocol was to wait for Abrams to make the call. “The person’s pain isn’t getting any better. I need a safe way down there, or at the very least a safe way to communicate with them so I can make an assessment.” She decided to give Zarath an update at that point, while Trenton and Abrams figured out what they were going to do next.

=/\=En Fayth to Lt. Cmdr. Zarath. We have two more people stuck in a turbolift between deck 2 and 3. One is severely injured. I’m not sure we can transport that person out first. We are attempting to get access to the turbolift so I can make an assessment.=/\=

OOC: Pasting from other thread to merge things together.
IC:
The XO watched Zorell roll her shoulder, the expression of pain and reaction told the prior Medical officer all she needed to. She inhaled. Once she cleansed her mind of the nagging issues within, she pulled back up onto her feet. Her hand lingered over the console before Avik turned to her current companion.

“Perhaps, we can try to communicate with Engineering this time?” Avik wanted Zorell’s opinion, primarily since it might distract her.

She was uncertain the odds were in their favor, but it had been proven they could be beaten from time to time.

Avik, Lt. Cmdr

“Sure,” Vora said quietly, feeling suddenly overwhelmed. Between the pain and the memories, she could the moisture collecting and it began to blur her vision. It annoyed her, but since she was holding her arm steady, she couldn’t really do much about it.

OOC: Per permission from Janice I am leaving this here for when it is needed.
IC: Once the access panel was opened, Sharah moved into the jeffries tube and then down the ladder to the stuck turbo lift. Opening the access hatch from the top she looked down to find Lt. Cmdr. Avik and Lt. j.g. Zorell. From the way Zorell was holding her arm, she was the one injured. “Lt. Cmdr. I’m going to drop a medkit down. The Lt. will need to be stabilized before transport, but that may be awhile. There are systems failures of varying degrees around the ship.” Carefully Sharah dropped the medkit down into the turbolift to the XO. And then, because there was nothing more she could do from that vantage point and unaware if it was safe to add more weight to the stuck lift she climbed back out and onto deck 2. =^=Sickbay to En Fayth. As soon as you are able, we need extra hands here. We know you are helping clear the decks, so whenever you are able.=^= She looked at Trenton, they were done here, but the influx of pain and panic from around the ship, and the intense pain from the Lt in the turbolift had made her slightly unsteady. She looked at Abbrams, “the XO has medical training. There isn’t anything more I can do here, I need to return to sickbay.” She looked at Ashlyn, “En Trenton, if I could get you to walk back with me. I’m not sure if it’s the emotional overload or a slight case of vertigo or maybe a side effect of the linger smoke, but I”m slightly unsteady. I’d prefer not to wander back to the safe point alone.”
En Fayth, Doctor

At the sight of other people and the realization that rescue was imminent, Vora suddenly broke down into silent sobs.
