Waking with a start, Warwick looked around Sickbay slightly disoriented. It took a moment for him to realize where he was. He was actually on Europa. Maybe it was all true and not a hallucination. He did survive the procedure… again.

Looking over he saw that Trenton was still on duty. A slight bit of comfort there. The kid had let him sleep and kept a watch over him. maybe Warwick could trust where he was after all.
He pulled himself up to a sitting position on the biobed, and looked over the Trenton. “You’re still here? Thank you. I do not remember sleeping that deep in quite a while.”

“So…what’s on my agenda today?” he asked aloud so that anyone could answer. “Rounds of invasive tests? … A visit to the Counselor? … an interrogation by Lt. Addams?”

  • Warwick

Trenton was standing not far from the biobed, having used the one next to Warwick’s to keep herself occupied with various exercises. “My guess is a checkup from the doctor. You were having bad dreams and had to be sedated.” Trenton offered the rousing man a sealed bottle of water, offering it from a guarded distance though it’s not clear if the guarded distance is from her own doubts and suspicions or to help put him at ease. “I don’t know about you, but when I wake up from sedation I usually have a very dry mouth.”

Warwick took the water and with a nod of his head thanked Trenton for the gesture.

Trenton took a moment with a PaDD to type up a night report and send it off to Lieutenant Abrams as a notice that Warwick was awake. Sure that she would be asleep, Trenton felt that sending the message this way would allow the Lieutenant the chance to wake on her own accord rather than being woken via comm for something that may not need her attention just yet. “I let Lieutenant Abrams know you are awake in case you would rather have a more familiar face to talk to, though I would recommend our counselor for your nightmares. I find she helps me with mine when the moment calls for it. It’s not a requirement, but it does help.”

“Well, I’m sure I will see your ship’s Counselor soon enough.” Warwick added with a smirk. He didn’t like Counselors generally. It was the waste of potential that bothered him the most. The crew tell them their darkest secrets and they don’t take advantage of it? If he was a Ship’s Counselor, it would set himself up for life.

“As for Lieutenant Abrams…” his sentence was interrupted by Doctor Fayth walking by, His eyes gave her a once over and he wondered why all the beautiful women were aboard Federation star ships. He let his mind wander a bit, but returned to finish his thought, “…Oh yeah, I wouldn’t mind talking to her again.”

Trenton followed his gaze to Doctor Fayth and chuckled a bit. “Trust me, she’s beyond our reach. She’s my roomie and I couldn’t even catch her. She’s rather stuck on the COS.”

‘Oh Really?’, Warwick thought to himself. ‘Security Barbie and the raven haired beauty.’

He turned to face Trenton with a much more urgent issue. “Hey kid, can I have some help getting up? He pointed towards the refresher.

Trenton nodded and moved over to help the man up, “Sure, no problem.” Though she was helpful, she was still wary of him and made sure her phaser hip was kept away from him enough that it would be noticeable if he tried to go for it.

With Trenton’s help, Warwick was able to take care of his business. His legs were still weak, and his almost all of his joints just seemed to ache. While in the refresher, he took a moment to look at his reflection. He had aged, and not comfortably. Dark rings around his eyes, a nose broken several times over. He looked bad. Maybe he could convince Trenton to help him clean himself up.

On the way back to the bio bed, He asked “I just saw myself in the mirror. Any chance I could get a shower, a haircut and a shave?”

As he climbed up onto the bed, he noticed Trenton and the way she handled herself. “You look like you have something on your mind, Kid? If you have any questions for me…ask away”
- Warwick

Ashlyn thought carefully about how she should answer that question and settled on the blunt approach. “I have twenty seven things on my mind that I’m rapidly swapping between to keep my mind alert and active. Of those twenty seven things, only four pertain to you, Mr. Warwick.” She holds up a PaDD containing all the information she was able to find on Warwick earlier. “This is all the information that can be found on you, there are a lot of holes that leave me with the burning question of ‘Who are you really?’ Though, I probably don’t have the clearance necessary to have all that information. I don’t know, and that makes me cautious.” Ashlyn gestures toward the cryopod that Warwick had been in. “What were you involved in that warranted the use of a Cryopod as an escape vessel? Why did you need to escape? What are you running and or hiding from? Again, this falls on the potential answer of ‘I don’t have enough clearance’ which in truth is starting to get on my nerves.” Ashlyn then holds up a PaDD with a simple map of the ship and points to a highlighted room. “This is the location of the nearest shower, I can help with the grooming if needed. However, I am currently unsure if we have the clearance to do this. You have not been logged as anything other than a ‘person of interest’ and protocol isn’t very clear on that. Should remedy that soon, but the Lieutenant will not be awake for another hour.” Ashlyn pressed a few commands into the PaDD to change the image to a triangle shaped sandwich filled with peanut butter and showed this to Warwick. “To keep myself from overthinking, I use peanut butter sandwich as a derailing thought which brings up the forth and final thought that you are involved in. Are you hungry?”

Warwick was taken back at the rapid reply from Trenton. ‘You asked’ he reminded himself as she continued with her questions. When she go to a break in the stream of consciousness questions, he held up a hand.

“Ok. One at a time. I’ll be as forthright as I can be.” He wasn’t surprises at the amount of info on him. Lots of paragraphs of data, a few pictures. None of them that good.
“First… who am I? As stated in the stuffed file before you, My name is Shane Warwick. I am a retired Star Fleet officer. A medical Doctor by trade. In fact, at one time I oversaw this very Sickbay.”
“Circumstances over the years have forced me to use assumed names in an effort to conceal my true identity. I guess I really don’t have to worry about that now…”
Looking over to the Stasis Pod, he swallowed then continued, “Next, why was I in that… I was put there to keep me stable until I could get medical attention. As you saw when I was awakened, I was in pretty bad shape.”
“Yes, it has to do with my alias’ and where I have been these last few years.”
“And, yeah, I think my story might be better told to Lieutenant Abrams. But,” he added with a sincere look, “… once she says it’s OK for me to tell you, I’ll fill you in myself.”

Looking down at the offered PBJ Warwick snickered. “I thought I might have something a bit more… than hospital food. But I’ll take it!!”

Ashlyn set the PaDDs aside on a counter and pulled from her pocket a pair of ration bars. “Don’t have access to food replicators yet, something that will be cleared up soon I’m sure, but until then this should hold you over.” She tears open a package for the patient and hands it to him to eat before opening one for herself. It was apparent that she was the one hungry and simply didn’t want to be rude by eating in front of Warwick without offering him any.

“I, however, do have access to the replicator, Mr. Warwick. If you prefer fare of a different sort, please let me know.” Doctor Zarath had somehow gotten all the way to the center of sickbay without being noticed, despite the click of his cane on the deck plates. “I trust you slept well?” Hanging the cane on a nearby table, the Andorian began to run a scan on Shane as he spoke, glancing only once at Ashlyn to assess if she was alright.

-Zarath, CMO

Warwick smiled at the Andorian doctor as he replied, “Yes, Yes I did under the watchful eyes of Ensign Trenton.” He turned to the young Security officer and gave her a smile.

“As for breakfast…” he let the words hang in the air as he pondered what would be his first true meal in several years, “… I would absolutely love a plate of corned beef hash and eggs. Over hard, seasoned with black pepper and hot sauce.

Sporting a smile, looked over to what Zarath was doing trying to catch a glimpse of the PaDD. “How am I feeling this morning, Doctor?”

Ashlyn looked fairly tired as she ate her ration bar, even she knows how exhausting her suspicion of ‘the unusual’ is but that is a part of what makes her a good Security officer. She’s alert and observant, ready to react when something goes sideways even if maintaining such a stance is more tiring than usual. Her most troubling issue tends to be the lack of clearance she constantly encounters, sure it’s a part of being at the bottom of the ladder, but that doesn’t mean she has to like it. Instead, she views it as a directive to prove she is in fact trustworthy enough to have access to more data so she can piece together a more detailed dossier on people like Warwick, or at least enough information to be able to have a more accurate investigation into the holes in his story. Right now there were just too many for her comfort.

Warwick turned back to Trenton as she pondered her energy bar. He could see she was lost in thought and probably thinking about him. “Ok, Kid. I’ll give you something.” Leaning over towards the petite security officer, he whispered, “…If you want to get in good with Abrams, get to know everything you can about a Sean Warwick.”
With that he resumed his upright sitting position on the biobed and gave her a wink.
