Mattie nodded and locked on the tractor beam to the smaller ship and attempted to pull it into their shuttle bay or at least within their shields so that they could get further away from the star. She didn’t glance at the Captain for the moment, focused on getting the smaller ship to safety.

CE

Mattie looked at Marsh “My theory is if we get far enough away from the star, the ship should stablize. I can keep her tractored and pull her away and then we can attempt to prevent her from exploding. Rather than bring her aboard…” She looked at Avik “You’re orders Commander?”

CE

Both officers made their points clear, but time chipped away at their options. Avik did a quick check of the ship on her console. It remained intact save for the shields. She decided not to dwell on it too much.

At this point, the XO trusted Sullivan’s technology knowledge enough to take a chance on her theory.

“We’ll try it. If the ship doesn’t show signs of stabilizing, we’ll beam the pilot on board and eject the ship farther into space.” At this point, Avik saw this as her best option.

She looked to CE. “Do it.”

Marsh made a face. It wasn’t common that he was the cautious one… although maybe he was only cautious when it wasn’t his idea.

The disabled warp craft was expertly brought within the Europa’s shields and in the nick of time too as the craft’s shields failed as it’s rear was sticking out. The pilot compartment in the front had passed through the Europa’s shielding but there’s a chance some of the radiation had made it through it’s internal structure. Either way the rest of the craft was pulled in and covered by the shields and didn’t explode.

GM Dread

Once the ship rested firmly in the shuttle bay, Avik forced herself to relax. She pressed her comms to contact Sickbay and Security.

=^= Bridge to Sickbay and Lt. Abrams. I need Medical and Security to send a team to shuttle bay. I will be there shortly to inform you of the situation.=^=

=/\=Abrams here. On my way. Is Donnely still up there?=/\= Cassidy asked.

Abrams, COS

=^= Yes, she is. I’m going to have her accompany me down.=^=

=/\=Alright, I’m going to send Ensign Trenton up to cover the bridge. Abrams out.=/\=

Avik immediately pulled up from her chair, gestured for the security officer to follow her and walked to the shuttle bay. She clicked her comms once more, this time for Astrometrics.

=^=Avik to Officer Zorell. We had to tractor the ship on board, do you have any more data on the natives?=^= Avik hoped more information might help in this situation. It couldn’t hurt.

Marsh

Clodagh had risen as the Captain fell and realized, when the XO called her to join her, that she was still standing by her seat. Shaking her head to clear it, she nodded at the gesture and joined Avik. They hadn’t formally met and once in the turbo lift, she smiled. “Clodagh Donnely, Ma’am. Clodagh if you want the shorter version,” she said as they made their way to the shuttle bay.

Security

=/\=There had been nothing new when I was there. I am in Sickbay right now, but I left Ensign Rutz in Astrometrics. She might have more info.=/\=

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

=^= Yes, she is. I’m going to have them accompany me down.=^=

Her eyes turned to the Security Officer to ensure the understanding.

–XO, Avik, Lt. Cmdr

=/\=Abrams to Trenton. Report to the bridge for station coverage. Someone up there can fill you in. Abrams out.=/\= She was going to go out on a limb here and give Ashlyn the chance to be in the thick of things but deeply in the hierarchy of the bridge. It was an opportunity as much as it could be a test.

Abrams, COS

=/\= Understood, I am in route. =/\= This was indeed a unique opportunity and one that Trenton wasn’t about to pass up, not that she had many options anyway. She arrived in short order and took up the tactical station, taking a moment to familiarize herself with the setup and make a few display adjustments she saves to her own settings. To most this would make the console appear a bit crowded, to Trenton, this is a more efficient display of available data from a given encounter. Within a matter of a few moments, Trenton was ready at her station and awaiting the next order.

OOC: I think Marsh is still up here and in charge currently, yes?
IC:
=/\=Astrometrics to Bridge. Rutz here. I’m running further scans, but just a heads up that two more spacecraft have undocked from the space station and are on separate paths to either side of the gas giant.=/\=
