Avik’s grip didn’t change immediately. Her skin paled and her eyes fixed ahead before her ears registered the words. It came through a thick, heavy fog within her mind. She blinked then wrestled control over her instinct. Gradually, the grip’s strength released from Officer Trenton’s hand. After she jerked her arm back, the XO moved around her unfortune victim. One thing set heavily in her thoughts: distance. The sooner she escaped, the better for everyone.

Her legs rushed down the corridor. Emotions of fear and helplessness began to fade the moment she turned the corner, but she didn’t stop.

-XO Avik, Lt. Cmdr

Abrams wasn’t fully aware of what was going on above her. She would check in on Avik, but presumably the Xo was at least going to go by Sickbay to get checked out. For the moment, she had someone injured who needed medical attention and probably a visit with Nox. With some difficulty, Cass helped Vora onto the sling. “Okay, bring her up carefully and then send it the rig back down for me,” she told Trenton.

Ashlyn winced as the XO departed, trying to shift her hand back into a more functional position and hoping joints were just dislocated. Unfortunately, unrestrained Vulcan strength was no laughing matter and the light touches shot lances of pain though her hand. “Understood, I’m down a hand so I’ll not be as efficient but we’ll get everyone up at least.” The hand was probably broken and will need to be looked at later, but that can wait until everyone is out. Ashlyn only hoped that the next person wasn’t also a telepath, her mind is getting her into trouble lately.

“That’s okay, I’ll be right behind, so as long as Vora is on the roof of the lift, I can help with the rest. The more room we have at the moment, the better,” Cass said.

And with that, she signalled to bring Vora up.

Abrams, COS

Vora was quiet, the haunted look never quite leaving her maroon eyes. As she was lifted out of the turbolift, she was trembling slightly, but she also felt a wash of embarrassment. Once again, her memory had gotten the better of her and in front of the XO again too! Maybe there was a limit to what she could do. Maybe there would always be an element of being in Starfleet that was bad for her. But at the moment she couldn’t really devote brain space to any of that. Right now she was just trying to keep her mind off of the pain.

Lt. (j.g) Zorell, Sciences

Trenton was clearly familiar with operating with a busted hand, she made great use of her forearm and elbow joint to maintain control of the rope and pully system while carefully lifting the Science officer. It did take more time and was less smooth, but Vora was brought high enough that Ashlyn could offer a hand to lift her out of the turbolift and into the Jefferies Tube. “Easy does it, I’ve got you.” At least as best as she can, it was clear Ashlyn was really struggling to move the science officer with her own strength.

Vora being exceptionally tall didn’t help matters but it did allow her to reach out her toes and solidify her stance before she got out of the sling. Her broken arm was still secure in the fabric from Avik’s jacket but it did hurt to move at all. Breathing outwards to steady herself, Vora nodded before carefully shifting her weight forward until she was on her own two feet. Just feeling the space around them for a moment helped steady her even though she knew they would need to go into small spaces before she could get to Sickbay.

Ashlyn waited and gave Vora her space, waiting for the Science officer to be ready to go into the Jefferies Tubes, taking this time to prep the line for the Security Chief. “You doing alright? Will you need help getting out of the tubes back to Sickbay?”

OOC: Weird. I swear I replied to this. Must have imagined it, lol.
IC:
Vora shook her head. “I think I’ll be okay,” she said quietly. “And I am sure Cass with come with me as well, but thank you.” Steadying herself before she continued, Vora gave Trenton a nod of gratitude and ventured into the jefferies tubes. It was tricky to keep her mind focused, but she had a goal right now and that helped.

Soon enough, Cass was up and removing the harness. “I’m going to see Vora to Sickbay, but we should debrief later once all the decks are clear,” she told Trenton. “In the meantime, find someone to do patrols with you and survey the surrounding decks to make sure we haven’t missed anyone, alright?”

Abrams, COS

Ashlyn hesitated for a moment, forcing her crushed hand into a fist and wincing slightly before sharply nodding. “Understood Lieutenant.” Ashlyn collected the gear from the turbolift and the adjoined Jefferies Tube to bag it all back up before proceeding to the Turbolift. =^=Trenton to Security, have two available members meet me on Deck three to conduct a sweep for any additional damages or personnel in need of assistance.=^=
