After his session with Counselor Nox, Shane was more determined than ever to make Europa’s Nine Forward lounge his own. He had gone back to Sickbay and pestered Zareth to let him use a computer terminal. First he looked up the specs of the lounge; measurements, power allocation, etc. He then spent an hour in the auxiliary holodeck down in Engineering to perfect a few plans for his presentation to the XO. Before he went he looked up the service record to get some sense of the officer, hoping to find an avenue to help present his proposal in the most favorable light.
What he didn’t expect was to find out the XO was a Vulcan… not only that, but a female Vulcan. And she was good looking. If he had a weakness, it was falling in love with Vulcan females. Even the phenomenally beautiful Cassidy Abrams couldn’t stack up to a Vulcan female. Now his difficult mission was complicated by the distraction he would face talking to Commander Avik.
With some help he contacted the Exec’s Office and requested an appointment. Something like this needed to be as formal as possible. Just before his scheduled time, he steeled himself outside the Office and rang the chime.
