“I’m not sure, really. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of the colony as a whole. I’m a geologist by first training so I am curious about the places colonies are formed on.” Vora was done and as she got up, she frowned in confusion. “Do we pay at the front or leave something at the table?” she asked, having brought credits with her for such outings. There was a long time ago where she couldn’t have even afforded to sit and have a meal in a cozy place like this. At least not on her own.

Cassandra began to usher her son to follow her out, their dishes left behind. She smirked as she noted Vora’s concern. “I’ve already taken care of that. We take turns covering expenses for each festival so don’t worry about it. You’re a guest after all.”

Avik began to pull up and follow Vora’s lead, monitoring her reaction to Cassandra’s generosity. While what Cassandra said was true, not everyone took kindness well. Some felt it unfair or wounded their pride. She hoped this was not the case with Vora.

Vora offered a small smile and a bow of her head. “Thank you, that is very kind of you. I just wanted to make sure I got it right here.”

“I believe there’s a study center at the heart of the colony. It is often used for educational trips, but it’s open to anyone interested in the subject. The other option is a tour of the underground tunnels. Less information, but toward the end it does take you into a geode.” She pointed out, wasting little time.

Behind them, Kekec, her father and Kivl had finished up extracting themselves from their seats.

“I think experience is a better teacher than listening to a lecture or small activities.” Kivl gave her subtle input as she moved in behind Avik.

Vora was torn. She was sure that the tunnels would be fascinating, but not knowing what to expect in advance make it a rather questionable proposition. And yet she was a geologist by original training so naturally she wanted to see the geode. She froze in place as she pondered how best to handle the dilemma. “How large are the tunnels? Is there much room to maneuver?”
