“It does take a bit more effort to not get jumpy,” Itap admitted. “I think Abrams would have my hide if I accidentally shot someone, so we’re keeping calm…” she said with a slow nod of her head. At least her phaser was set to stun.

~NE ITap.

“As long as you don’t shoot me, we’re good.” Franklin snorted.

“I’ll do my best,” Itap said nonchalantly.

Sparks issued from the Klingon computer as the tricorder kept trying to get all of the information available. Franklin, and even Itap, would notice that the majority of the sparks seemed to come from a giant blast mark that was where the original user interface terminal would have ordinarily been. The kind that was very deliberately produced by weapons fire.

Itap startled slightly at the sparks, but her eyes narrowed as she tried to identify the source.

A beep later issued from the tricorder, as the program was complete. The results were not very informative; there was less data available for extraction than would be expected, even from an older computer system. It seemed as if a lot of data was deliberately erased. But if there was anything specific Franklin wanted to know about or do with the computer, he would be able to at least attempt it now.

Franklin swore and holstered his phaser, shielding his eyes from the sparking equipment. Once it was over, he glanced at the mainframe and then the tricorder… “Holy smokes…” He said softly. “I think it worked…”

“Progress is good. Maybe we can figure out who went on a rampage through the ship,” the security NE declared.

There was a low hum now in the room that was not present before, as if the computer was just now ready to do… something. For now, yes, it worked. But would it stay working?

He tapped his comm badge. =/\=Chief, we’re in the Main Computer. It looks like a huge chunk of data is missing, presumably erased by a user… However, I can make queries and have what I think is master control. Orders?/=/\=

-Franklin

There was a brief pause, likely caused by some conversation on Europa that Franklin and Itap were not immediately privy to.

– ?

Phaser still in hand, Itap circled the area slowly keeping her eyes and ears open for anything unexpected.

~NE Itap, Security

=^=Transfer the data to the main computer on the Europa.=^= She said -=^=I’ve isolated a section of the servers for the transfer.=^= She said =^=Proceed with your queries, but do it quickly. Get as much information as you can over to us and we can go from there.=^=
