Abrams couldn’t help but laugh aloud. “I won’t take that personally. Besides, if someone’s taking my job, it means I’m moving on to something else, right. Not always a bad thing,” she said with a wink, feeling comfortable enough with how their conversation had gone to let down her guard a bit more and be herself.
“We’re due for a departmental social night, so keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, I’m around,” Cassidy said, gesturing with her arm.

Clodagh smiled. “Sounds like a deal. You get promoted, and I’ll just step in and take over. Smooth as Warp 6 in a slip stream.” She laughed. Rising up, she shook her head. “Oh wow.. not sure how much life I’ll be to a party. But I will do my best.” A small shrug accompanied the comment. “I’m the one who usually volunteers for watches when those things happen. But I promise I won’t volunteer every time.” She smiled. “I’ll go get my quarters squared away and get ready for shift tomorrow, if that’s all right. I’m sure I’ve monopolized you enough today.” She was enjoying her time with the woman, but didn’t want to wear it out in the first meeting.

Security“It’s all good. It was good to meet you Clodagh. Have a good rest of your day,” Cassidy said with a smile.
Leaning back in her chair, she could definitely say that this had been a smoother and more relaxed meeting. Maybe it really was okay. Abrams could at least be reassured that maybe she wasn’t handling check-ins wrong. She’d still be cautious, but she could relax a bit about the whole thing.

Clodagh nodded and smiled. “Glad to be here, Chief,” she said and rose up to go.
“Enjoy the rest of your day, if you get the chance.” She smiled and nodded. Once in the hall, she relaxed and nodded to herself. This was going to be a good posting.
