The stars swirled and for a brief moment Vora could reach out and pretend to actually touch them. She loved geology and always would, but her fascination with stars and stellar phenomenon had really taken hold. She was reading everything she could find on the off chance that even one detail might become useful to her and the ship when it was needed. A chirp that indicated a personal message drew her attention to her PADD. She had been expecting some correspondence from a colleague on Andrakell IV, so had been keeping a close eye on her message.

She smiled at Nox’s invite to the dinner she and Jerrin were making. Well, how do you like that? she mused and went to send a message to the other invitee through their personal .

Hey, did you see the message about Jerrin’s dinner? I’m free. Are you?

A minute or two passed before there was any acknowledgement, but then the words seemed to appear with a bleep.

Yes. Let’s?

Definitely. Swing by Astrometrics on your way down and we can show up together. Nox said half and hour, and I have a couple things to log before I turn over things to the next shift.

The screen bleeped once more.

OK

Johann was probably typing with one hand on the Bridge, into the control panel on his chair’s arm rest. He usually had the problem of typing too much rather than too little; several of his messages that he would write to the rest of the ship’s crew were ones he’d describe as “missives.”

With a smile, Vora went back to finishing her tasks so that she could take off for the day. She had to admit that she was curious as to what Jerrin had been cooking with Nox. then again, Jerrin often surprised her. But sometimes she thought he surprised himself far more.

Bump so we can meet up and move into the other thread :)

The astrometrics doors parted and the Captain stepped through them. He gave a slight glance two-and-fro with his occular implants, to see if anyone else was here, before finally settling on Vora.

“Shall we?” he asked.
