After leaving the auxiliary bridge Tigress headed to the Zooalogy lab. Shure enuff like Tom has said she forgot about him until the saw the reminder. She let midnight out of his enclosure put up the warning sine then went to work trying to identify the samples that were gotten from the auxiliary bridge.
Ensign Tigress

The hour had passed and with nearly pin point punctuality Tom arrived in the signature black on black uniform of Internal Security. He stepped past Midnight into the lab proper.

“Ensign Tigress. I’m here for the genetic compilation. I hope you received the request.”

Tom, IntSec

Tigress looked up from her work to see midnight behind Tom. “ Midnight come her” she growled at the tiger who had a bit of a mischievous look on his face. The tiger walked past Tom to sit next to tigress. “ sorry about that sir he is in a strange mood today. Come take a look I have not yet figured out who true genetic markers are from but I have isolated them” she said. She game midnight a look and the cat disappeared to another corner of the lab.
Ensign Tigress

“I understand. I have the genetic profiles of the ship’s compliment to make cross referencing easier.” Tom said holding out a PaDD to Tigress.

  • Tom, IntSec

“ ok thank you” she said. She took the pad and studied the list carfuly. Then looked at the information comparing it. If Tom looked around he would find all kinds of animals most of them were from tropical reagens like Midnight. Tigress has the best luck with worm wether species as a posed to cold wether ones. Grand that did not mean she did not know anything about craters outside tropical ones thes were just the ones she chose to study.
Ensign Tigress

Tom didn’t explore the zoology lab, he merely stood and observed Tigress making the comparisons and indicating the crew members that were shown as being present in the auxiliary bridge due to their genetic markers being there. Animals had a tendency to either not react to him or react unfavorably. He put it down to his gift/curse interfering with some part of their ability to detect emotional states and intent.

  • Tom, IntSec

He may have thought that animals reacted unfavorably. He had forgotten that this group of animals trusted Tigress and excepted her judgment of individuals. Might the full grown mail tiger however was different the cat had been rased by her. The cat walked over to Tom and sat next to him.

Tigress however was oblivious to the cats movements. She trusted Midnight and know he was not dumb enough to challenge her now. Besides Tigress was to focused on her work. Her ears lay back agenst her head and she growled in frustration. “ sir, this may take a wile I think humanoid genetic are more complicated then animals DNA.” She growled agitatedly.
Ensign Tigress

OOC: I was using flavor text to explain why Tom didn’t explore the zoology bay or make any effort to interact with the animals. I don’t use player knowledge to insert things my character wouldn’t know though there has been a couple of debates on how and why Tom would know something that required detailed explanation as to how. This is not one of those times.

IC: Tom barely acknowledged Midnight’s presence.

“Very well, Can you give me an estimate on how long you think it will take?”

  • Tom, IntSec

Tigress did not respond. To someone how did not know her it may have seamed she was ignoring him. Those who know her however know she was to cought in what she was doing to actually noticed she had been asked a question. It was another ten minutes before she looked up from her work and hand him the pad with all of her conclusions.” I’m not 100% shure but this should give you a good place for o start” she said. The pad contained a list of the genetic markers picked up from the bridge as well as a list of people who appeared to fit them.
Ensign Tigress

Tom took the PaDD and looked it over. He spend a couple of minutes skimming through it, nodded, and handed it back to Tigress.

“Thank you.” he said taking two steps back before turning to walk out.

… and nearly collided with Dagen who had at first gone to the wrong science lab. The Zoology lab was not his first pick for when someone said science, and he was re-routed politely by the scientist he had startled and who had handily dropped what he said had ‘taken all day to compile these sensitive samples’. Dagen made a mental note to not go near the lab if they were looking a plague samples.

“Found you,” he said. His nose caught many scents of the different creatures here and wasn’t sure he liked the mix. It was too much like a zoo, though holo zoos these days were kinder on the scent department for the tourists. “Went to the wrong lab first.” A pause then, “I have two teams working on pattern inhibitors. It would be good to know what kind of animal, ah, pardon the pun, was the one that the doctor picked up.”
- Dagen, CE

Tigress turned her head sideways and put her ears back agenst her head. “ what are you talking about? What animal all the animals in here are accounted for” Tigress said. She started mentally going through the list of animals onboard and where they were sapose to be. She looked around the lab quietly checking each animal off that list.
Ensign Tigress

Tom looked over his shoulder at Tigress for a moment before turning his attention fully on Dagen.

“Good afternoon Chief. Shall we talk as we walk?” he asked indicating the door.

  • Tom, IntSec

Dagen looked about the lab. His eyes met Tigress and her rather large feline companion. Idly he wondered if they had a relationship of some sort going, or how well they would communicate. But that thought was short lived. “Lets,” he said, turning around and meeting Tom’s stride. “I was first informed of anything not long ago when the CMO came in and said that she had nearly been kidnapped. She described what happened and asked whether we could do any safeguards. Right now she, and I believe, the XO, are in the brig under lockdown setting. Shy of new technology nobody is beaming out of there. I have shields up and diagnostics running as another countermeasure - against outside beaming, and a couple of teams working on a way for her to move about. But apart from that that is all I know.”
- Dagen, CE

“ why are we not at red alart, and who in there right mind would try and kidnap the CMO. Is that why you needed the scan from to axilary brige for” Tigress said walking up behind them. Her mindworking fast to try and understand. The CMO we the XO’s wife and as far as she know the XO and Ben were friends. So she definitely did not want something to happen to the CMO. Midnight had followed her out of the lab sending sume kind of tenchin. That might explain the strange behavior of the animals in the last few hours. “ when was the attempted kidnaping” Tigress asked after a moment.
Ensign Tigress

Dagen looked at Tigress then at Tom. It seemed he knew before he himself did on any developments there. He replied, “As the XO is involved and from what I sensed they wanted to keep this quiet to not alert too many people to this perhaps until we know more.” His mind did a calculation. “I’d say less than a half hour ago.”
- Dagen, CE
OOC: I”d guess no red alert as this is a side sim and dont’ want to interfere with the main sim with a major situation like a red alert .. Gene

OOC: No, no red alert and side sims don’t necessarily happen at the same time as the main sim.

IC: Tom let his head drop, pinched the bridge of his nose between his thumb and fore finger, and gave a small sigh. Looking back up he continued out the door.

‘So much for compartmentalization.’ Tom thought as he started down the corridor.
