The scan on the Merry showed that their detectors’ high resolution array was malfunctioning and only their low resolution array was online. Furthermore, the detectors were only able to detect shadows or blocks to the natural cosmic radiation from outside the star system. They were only able to detect the Genesis because it was large enough and it was moving directly towards them.

GM

“Sir, scan on their ship shows that their sensors are malfunctioning.” He frowned. “That shouldn’t be on a flagship in their own system, at least in my opinion. They were scanning us earlier pretty good, if superficially. Nothing we did would have affected it.”

he turned in his seat. “Commander, do you think they know they are offline? Or should we reach out in the interests of friendship and as them to help calibrate our sensors by helping theirs. You know .. scan that asteroid and let us know what they have and vice versa.”
Dagen, CE

Marius paused and stared at the screen for a moment. “No,” he shook his head slightly. “I would be troubled if strangers knew more about our ship than we did ourselves. Lets just keep any eye out.”

OOC: Just to keep the sim moving … You can continue the thread above …

About 40 minutes later, the small craft that they had detected approached the Merry and entered it the same way the away team’s shuttle had done so. There was a contingent of soldiers, more than the one that welcomed the away team, waiting to receive them, the Genesis’s sensors revealed.

GM

“Stellar drift aye Commander.” Ben inputed the commands into the computer console. “Sir
be advised sensorss picking up a large contingent of soldiers on the shuttle. I recommend a defense position to block the shuttle to the Merry until we get to the bottom of it.

Park, BO Tactical/Security

“Check again, Mr. Park, the soldiers were already on the Merry,” Thomas said gently. “Looks like a bigger bunch than welcomed the Away Team… think that means the Captain is going to be meeting someone fairly senior?” he asked the Bridge crew at large.

COS

“Keep those phasers holstered.” It odd that he was the one preaching passivity. “We have the wherewithal to deal with pretty much anything they do in short order.”

Marius XO

Ben looked again in an embarrassed fashion “Yes SIr. Sorry Sir.”

Park

The sensors showed quite a bit of activity with the new arrivals. The away team’s commbadge signals showed that they were meeting the newly arrived people.

Dagen returned to the bridge and moved back to his station. Clapping NE Terry Spinner on the back, he reclaimed his seat and looked at the main viewer. The shuttle had arrived, apparently, but that didn’t mean that information was over. “Sir,” he said to the XO, “Lt Chan is deploying a very small probe, more like a drone.” He gave the size of it based on his hand gestures. “It is essentially cloaked to their scanners and we can get a closer look at things, or even, a closer peek at their world.”

OOC: Adding my last post …

GM

“Sounds like two Government ministers,” Thomas said, mostly to himself as he took notes on the conversation. “And asking if the Federation is accepting applications.”
