“This guest requested a private waiter,” The woman told Julien, grinning. “Surprisingly he described you perfectly.” She let out a giggle and moved off.

As Julien entered the cabana, he would see a man sprawled on a chaise lounge. He wore a one-piece bodysuit uniform exactly like Julien had seen David wearing many times. The velvet like material was a deep forest green color, with a cord attached to the outside that snaked around the entire body. The man had longer hair that was jet black and was pulled back into a man bun style. He had a closely cropped goatee and his eyes were crystal blue. Having seen him once before, in the holo-recording, Julien would recognize him as none other than Jackson Grey.

Aevin saw Julien walk into a private cabana. They’d been separated. He’d have to rejoin the group by “serving” Michaels and Riley.

“Captain King,” Jackson said, his voice sticky sweet. “It is a pleasure to meet you. Please,” He motioned towards the sitting area. “Join me. We have much to discuss.”

Julien Switched on his cybernetically enhanced senses as he looked at Jackson. Then he sat down. “All right, let’s talk.” he said. He wasn’t worried yet. He was quite sure this man had futuristic equipment, but Julien had some himself and maybe Jackson really only wanted to talk.

  • Julien King

There didn’t appear to be anything out of the ordinary about Jackson, nothing that Julien would be able to detect. Given that he was a known terrorist from the future, he would no doubt have taken precautions to protect himself.

Jackson smiled. “Julien King…” He let the name hang on his tongue for a moment. “Had I known my path would cross with such a legendary man, I would have no doubt arranged this meeting much sooner.” He chuckled. “Tell me, how is David working out as your Chief Science Officer? Have you found a way to keep him working within all of Starfleet’s regulations?”

-Jackson Grey
OOC: I just split the thread and snipped a bit to make it easier since we are now separated

Julien smiled back amiably and shrugged. “He’s good enough. Of course I’d prefer an officer about whom I know his whole service record, but filling out those request forms is so boring.” he said. “But I do take my job seriously and that’s why I wanted to meet you. For all I know I may be making first contact right here and now in a way.”

  • Julien King

Jackson smiled. “I wouldn’t be too presumptious,” He chuckled. “But alas, I did not bring you here to simply talk about David. He is but one piece in the puzzle. And you…” Jackson let the word hang in the air, raising his eyebrows at Julien. “You my dear Captain Julien King, are another. I must return to where I come from, and you my good fellow, are going to help me achieve my goals.”

-Jackson Grey

Julien kept his amicable poker face. “Oh, how is that?” he simply asked.

  • Julien King, CO

Jackson grinned. “All in good time, my dear Captain King.” He paused, his fingers interlaced under his chin, his eyes full of mystery and suspicion. “Tell me, Julien. Has David died while in your service?” The grin on his face was smug and unnerving.

-Jackson Grey

THis time it was really tough to keep the poker face up. How on Earth could Jackson know about that. DId he have the Genny bugged? If so Julien had to take steps… and he needed David and Riley here. He had never tried this before, but he knew he had a deep connection to RIley and the counselor was tuned in on his feelings. So first he locked his expression on his face, aided by his android muscles, so he could keep the poker face up.
Then he thought of the situation in his life when he felt most vulnerable and in need of help in his life and let himself feel those feelings as strongly as he could, hoping that it would alarm Riley who, after all, wasn’t far away from him.

“I don’t see why I should answer to you. Either you know already, then I don’t need to tell you or you are just fishing in the dark while trying to look smug. Either way, what goes on on my ship is of no concern to you. If you want my help, speak out and tell me with what. I’m open to considering it. Otherwise we’re just here so David can tell you that it’s over between the two of you and that you should leave him and us alone.”

Just for added effect, Julien made his right android eye zoom in on Jackson, which usually unsettled other people.
“I’ll be honest with you, even if you can’t be. I have some suspensions that you were somehow involved in some of our past missions that had to do with the timeline. So this is also in a way a warning from me to you. If I find you meddling with my ship, my crew or Starfleet business, your name moves from the list of ‘noteworthy relations of officers’ to the list of ‘apprehend for further investigation for crimes against the Federation’.

Jackson remained unfazed, the smile still on his lips. “Dear Captain, did you think I brought you here to rekindle some kind of romance with our sweet David?” He laughed. “As for knowing the goings on of your ship, tell me, did you never wonder who was pulling our dear friend Hollbach’s strings? Did you think that imbecile of a man could have ever possessed the knowledge he had on his own?”

He stood. As he did, Julien’s Android eye would be able to detect a small device implanted under the skin of Jackson’s right hip.

“It appears you are not ready,” Jackson said. “I am a patient man, I can bide my time. Your threats mean nothing to me, Captain King. My connections run deep and far in this timeline. I will achieve my goals. With or without your help.” He smirked again. “But the day will come, and you WILL help me.” With that he balled his right hand into a fist and punched himself in the exact spot Julien had seen the device in the mans hip. Instantly a shimmer of light appeared around Jackson. Instead of the normal pattern of the transporter beam, the lights swirled around Jackson in rings that encircled his body. The rings rotated faster and faster and then engulfed Jackson and he was gone.

OOC: Damn this is good! I can’t wait for the next episode - I just hope it’s not a no-win scenario ;-) but seriously, we gotta keep it going and ideally draw a few more crew members into this long-term storyline. Will reply after Charley…

OOC: I have some ideas. It’s been fun to be able to run an ongoing side sim. Who knows when Jackson might pop back up again?

It wasn’t the short jog to the cabana that had Riley breathing heavily. The mix of his own anxiety with Julien’s in his mind had caused adrenaline to pump through his system and it was with more force than needed that Riley threw back that fabric door and entered. His dark eyes searched the room, but saw only the man he knew to be Julien despite his facial alterations.

“Captain? Are you ok?” he asked.

Dekker, CNS

Julien nodded while he dressed, his face full of worry and anger at the same time. “I’m fine, now. He’s just left.”

A few minutes later David entered the cabana, the sachel slung over his shoulder. He was slightly surprised that Jackson wasn’t there.

“Where did he go?” David asked, looking over towards Julien.

-David Michaels

Julien raised an eyebrow at David. “You knew Jackson was here? Why didn’t you come right away then? I think we have a problem with him and this is not a personal problem anymore, it now concerns the safety of the Genesis.” he said seriously.

  • Julien

David looked dejected. He slowly pulled out the box the man had given him. “I only suspected after i was given this.” He let out a sigh. “You have every reason to be upset with me Captain, I feel like I’ve let you down. I doubt what’s inside this box will reveal anything more as to Jackson’s agenda. Just another piece in his twisted games.” He looked over at Riley, the disappointment and sadness clear on his face.

“I’m sorry.”
