The CO’s shuttle took off from the Merry and returned safely to the Genesis.

GM

“Commander the shuttle is docked”

Park

The Merry moved slightly away and engaged their warp drive to return to where their home planet was. At the same time, the smaller ships near the home planet remained stationed at their defensive formation.

GM

“Give her a full scan and then welcome the Captain back.”

Marius XO

“Lt Chan,” Dagen said, “You’re good with small things. Please head down to the shuttle and run a scan for any foreign objects .. as in listening devices or otherwise, that might have inadvertently become attached.”
- Dagen, CE

From the bridge, the internal sensors did not show any presence of foreign listening devices.

GM

“Excellent. I doubt they have the ability to hide things from us if we look.”

Marius

It had sounded like the Genny had been invited to meet the Pallasian leadership, and Thomas was curious if that meant a trip closer to the planet… specifically inside that defensive perimeter.

Perhaps a call to Command for a Diplomatic specialist wouldn’t be amiss…

COS

=^= King to the Cmdr. Marius. We’re safely back. Please arrange a bridge crew staff meeting right away and set course for the planet, the talks went well and we are invited. That is if nothing speaks against it from your perspective. =^=

  • Julien King, CO

=^=Welcome back Captain. I see you didn’t start any interstellar incidents. Well done. =^=

=^=Senior Staff to the briefing room immediately. =^=

Marius

Ben just finished analyzing the shuttle’s tactical scans made his way into the briefing room.

The Merry went into Warp 1.0 and the estimated time of arrival was about 5 hours.

GM

Marishka went to check on her station. She had every confidence in the NE handling it while she was gone but, with regards tot he comms, she had become quite the perfectionist.

  • Marishka, CIO

Julien went right to the large briefing room adjoining the bridge and waited for the other bridge officers to arrive.

  • Julien King, CO

Thomas reluctantly pulled away from the Pallasian news feed and made his way to the Briefing Room once he saw the Captain enter.

COS

Marius walked in beside the Captain. “It was fairly quiet out here. A couple of ship movements and we’ve been looking at the news reports…” He shrugged. “They did scan us for a bit, I don’t think they learned anything special.”

Marius

Marishka walked into the briefing room a bit behind Thomas. She had been on the away mission, seen everything everybody else there had, but was still suspicious.

  • Marishka, CIO

Ben walked moments later and sat down by Thomas.

Tidying up a couple of things and putting the vessel(s) status as a flag in case they did anything untoward (aka .. any movements toward them) - and setting a forward to go to his PaDD if anything did hapen - Dagen headed into the briefing room. Finding an empty seat he sat down, leaning forward, his fingers folded together. Nothing happened fast at warp 1, even if it was warp, so this meeting was a welcome change.
- Dagen

Riley was cautiously optimistic that their current mission was mostly upside. Were it not for the anxiety he sensed from David, he’d have few worries at all from their first contact. He entered the briefing room in a good mood and took a seat.

Dekker, CNS

David entered the briefing room shortly after Riley. Since returning from the away mission the CSO has been strangely absent. He quietly took a seat.

-David Michaels, CSO

When everyone had arrived Julien stood up. “All right. The first round of talks went well, there is no sign of hostility or subterfuge, but of course we have to stay vigilant. As it is they have invited us to their planet and allowed our Science department…” he looked at David and Sage “… to explore their flora and fauna. I’m not a diplomat, I’ve informed Starfleet and I’m sure they will send a diplomat. We are a Science vessel however and this is the chance we’ve all been waiting for. Finally we get the chance to explore a new planet and civilisation.
Needless to say, every away team visit has to be advised and a security detail added. When a civilisation encounters their first aliens there are always traditional factions that are afraid and want to lash out.”

Thomas nodded. It was a sensible precaution. However, he didn’t have that many Security officers available, so there would have to be a lot of coordination involved.

he looked at Calvin and Riley “Please plan the away teams and -missions and make sure our crew stays safe. Any questions?”

  • Julien King, CO

“Where exactly are we entering the planet Sir?”
