Wanting the evening to go smoothly, Sage prepared a meal that Calvin didn’t allow himself very often. Steak and fries with a side of coleslaw. The food was replicated so it was nutritious and not fatty, but it also tricked the body and brain into craving more carbs and calories per day.

It was time for him to walk through the doors of their quarters, having finished his shift on the bridge. Sage felt a little thrill of excitement as she watched the door for his arrival. They hadn’t been very close lately—ever since his promotion and their ensuing argument. Well, she was tired of the self imposed distance and had promised herself that she’d do her best to heal their wounded feelings that night.

OOC: So she moved her stuff into the Captain’s quarters?

Marius entered his room… well it really wasn’t a room and hadn’t been a single room since he became a department head. Each Chief had a suite, the size of the suite depended no the rank and as XO he had two rooms, one very large one that doubled as a living/dining room and another that was a bedroom/office. His new ‘digs’ had the living room/dining room combo, but had the bedroom and office area’s split so there were three rooms. Quick luxurious for a star-ship but command had it’s privileges.

Marius was in a mood. No one had told him most of command was dealing with personalities… he hated personalities… and hated dealing with them even more. He grumbled to himself as he walked through the door… saying nothing of the aggravations of command to Sage seeing as she was more opposed to his promotion than in favor of it. And while the had a level of detente since the move from the XO quarters they certainly weren’t on ‘speaking’ terms. In fact they hadn’t had adult relations since the promotion… which for them was setting a new record for abstinence every day it continued. “I’m finally off shift.” He said… leaving off his typical pet name for her as he didn’t know how that would be received.

Marius

OOC: I just made an assumption, thinking time had passed and its what was expected :/

IC:
She felt a fluttering in her stomach as she looked at Cal and realized just how much she’d missed him over the last few weeks. Draped in a light blue robe, Sage walked towards him, her fingers loosening the belt at her waist until the robe parted and revealed she wore nothing beneath it. As she closed the distance and pressed herself against him, her arms wove themselves around the back of his neck. “Oh Babe, I’ve missed you so much!”

—Sage

“Hello… Dear?” Marius was pleasantly surprised by the thawing of relations, and well a little suspicious all he could think about was that scene in Star Wars when the Mon Calamari Admiral screamed ‘Its a trap’. It would be a pleasant trap… There were few things in the world more attractive than his wife and even fewer things more enjoyable than a night with her, but they tended to argue big and long…

Calvin tipped his head down to kiss her… not too aggressively as he still was trying to feel out the situation. In his summation, she was more emotionally volatile than him and he was far more rigid and stubborn. Not necessarily a bad romantic combination… but certainly not a good conflict resolving team.

OOC: I moved some of my lines about so it flowed a little better.

“I programmed us a lovely meal, but didn’t want to put it on the table until you got here.” Cold steak wasn’t worth eating, in her opinion. “How was your day? Rough?” She raised herself on her toes for another kiss before pulling away to go make him a drink. She made them both one and gave him a lusty smile as she handed over his glass.

Marius happily took the drink and a swig from it feeling the slight burn as it rushed past his tongue into his belly. “I always knew I didn’t like paperwork and personalities, this job just proved it.” He admitted what everyone already knew about him. “It’s mentally exhausting… it’s like listening to Klingon Opera all day… the clanging and the wailing.”

He topped off his complaint with a matching kiss for Sage. It had been a long time and while he had controlled his urges, like a starving man who could go days without eating the second the food was placed in front of him his mouth started watering. “I see you ‘undressed’ for dinner.” He could not mistake the slight tug at her robe belt. People said Calvin had no ability to read emotional signals but he was able to pick that one up… he thought proudly.

“Yes, I undressed for dinner because I didn’t want to waste any time—that is…if you’re of a mind to call a truce for the night?” She missed Calvin. They shared the same living space, but that was about all they’d been sharing since his promotion. They avoided speaking to each other most of the time, too, and Sage was lonely. She imagined he was too, but she’d been wrong before. “What do you say, Babe?”

—Sage

“I have to consult with my minster of marriage.” He tilted his head slightly to the right, as if someone was whispering to him. After a short pause. “Yes,” he said loudly for effect. “I do wholeheartedly agree for a truce… and for the sake of interstellar peace… we are prepared to offer a complete cessation of all hostilities effective immediately. Pending verification, of course, that you are unarmed…” He raised an eyebrow.

“This verification will have to be done manually.” He put down his drink and rubbed his hands together warming them.

Marius

Her smile was ripe with possibilities. “Oooooo, well I wouldn’t want to stand in the way of interstellar peace.” She took a step back from him and raised both arms out to her sides. The robe was pulled open further by her posture. “I willingly submit to the verification.” Sage felt her heart rate speed up at the imminent touch she knew was only seconds away. It had been too long since Cal had had his hands on her.

—Sage

He was pleased he could work up an appetite before dinner and while he couldn’t help but be excited by this eventuality he was more pleased about the thawing of relations between him and his wife. “Close your eyes.”

Anticipation was often worth more than the act. He stood in front of her for a moment just letting her ‘feel’ his presence without out knowing exactly where he was at. He leaned in slowly, his warm breath touching her cheek and then her neck.

He slowly reached the flaps of her robe opening it and sliding his hand along the cloth but not touching her before moving slowly and touching her side at the waist then running his fingers up towards her shoulders with a flickering motion.
