The small craft was completed … at least as much as it was possible to … after some hours. There were parts missing either due to the crash or that some parts were missed when they recovered the craft.

Bot plopped himself on the deck, cross legged and, for one as substantial as he, was pleased that his exercises were working for him - flexibility wise anyway. He looked at his ‘re-creation’. It wasn’t all together and there were bits missing but he got the gist of what it looked like. They got the gist of its programming and the kind of pictures that they were taking and sent back - none of which was altogether rife with drama.

Suddenly curious, he brought back his PaDD that held the logs of the transmissions to and from and the scans it made. So rudimentary. How did they even do it? There were two things he wanted to see … the first was whether in their scans and video if anything had passed them by that was not a rock or space dust … so he set the PaDD parameters to have a look at that. The second was whether they had any provision for encountering anyone else. Even Earth in its in system early ventures into space had a whole Rosetta Stone as it were of information about the Terrans in it. What about the Pallasians? Did they think they might find anyone at this new star? Stretching, he yawned. “My turn to nap,” he said, thinking a hammock between the two bulkheads would be really nice right about now. While that was scanning and searching, Bot was napping.

The video logs showed that there was an asteroid that was in the path of the probe. The instruction to adjust its course arrived after the crash.

Tigress decided not to argue with Bot she had found a spot to curl up. Within minutes she was sound asleep and actually purring in her sleep. An unusual acuteness for her but the others did not know that.

“Ouch,” Bot said. “Downed by a slow transmission command. But then who would have expected to have encountered anything like this in the middle of nowhere? I mean what would have been the chances of being disabled by a rock in the middle of space between stars? Bad luck on their part. But what could have happened to their other probe? Two times bad luck? Hard to imagine.” However they were speeding back toward the Pallasian system now so no chance to follow up more on that. This he thought of as he was laying on his back, fingers laced behind his head. It wasn’t like this was all that revealing at all - just that they didn’t have any kind of sense of running into anyone out here. Or that they had already in some way and didn’t want to advertise. Contemplating this, Bot dozed off …
