OOC: Going to get this thread started.

IC: Riley went straight from the shuttle to the briefing room. They had a bit of time to grab a snack or use the facilities, but he was too deep in his thoughts to make his way back to his quarters, even for a brief sojourn. He went to the replicator and ordered a cup of black coffee. The familiar sound of the replicator was reassuring after his sojourn on the alien planet. Cradling the mug he took a seat at the long table.

He knew he’d have to convey the team’s uneasiness with their Pallasian hosts and that, if the other away team had a contrasting experience, he’d have to make his case convincing. In the momentary silence, he replayed their mission focusing on the emotions he felt emanating from each person on the planet. Their overeagerness and keen interest in their technology, coupled with their bared, powerful hands had caused him to briefly evacuate his team from the conference room. Could he ascribe that action to more than a gut feeling? He wasn’t sure. Then there trip out of the confines of the government building and the angry man who’d nearly killed Sage. No planet was completely free of the deranged or violent. Why did he feel that man represented more than an isolated incident? And finally, there was David. He’d shared more than he should and yet it wasn’t enough. Riley trusted his claim, but how could he push it without the underlying evidence.

Altogether he knew his instinctual conclusion, but instinct was rarely enough. He brought the mug of coffee to his lips as he heard the door open.

It was David. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Riley was alone. He walked over to him, a look of desperation in his eyes.

“Tell me what to do,” David said, putting a hand on Riley’s arm. “I know things.” He sighed. “I just can’t go around spouting off my future knowledge.” He looked deep In Riley’s black eyes. “Please. Just tell me what to do.”

-David Michaels, CSO

Riley put a hand on David’s shoulder giving it a squeeze, “I can’t make a decision like this for you. Once you open the door, once you cross that line, you can’t walk back behind it. “

Marius walked in so quickly that it almost appeared that he was storming in… He looked at the assembled people. Not quite everyone was there but he’d work with what he had and would add the rest as it came together. “What do you know, and what do you think?” He separated the two as he wanted both sets of information but the also wanted them to make the distinction.
