Dagen tried to suppress a smile and ended up covering his mouth with his fist. When the XO turned toward him, Dagen said, “Standard diagnostic testing tool. There were a number of them placed throughout the ship during the latter part of construction. They were all supposed to be collected and taken to the labs for download and analysis in order to show that what was done in shakedowns and simulations were accurate and the ship sending the proper information. By all reports they were all returned.” He nodded to the others to take it down for analysis. “Bring it to Angel, Sebastian. You two are best equipped for that analysis. Bot, Deeg, stay here.”

“I’ll get in touch with the Shipyards to confirm receipt of the test DCD’s. My guess is that it was missed.” He looked about the bridge “Close things up,” he said to the group.

Magnus cocked his head if it was out of embarrassment it was not obvious. “Interesting” He mused eyeing the object for a moment longer, “Hardly standard protocol to leave such devices behind,” He said more to himself than to Dagen. He was admittedly unfamiliar with rundown diagnostics of new ships but he was not one to take things at face value, as the Chief Engineer personally knew. “Has the Aux-Bridge been used at all since the Ships Maiden voyage?” He asked casually.

XO

Dagen shook his head. “Nothing official or mission related. Unofficially to dust off the seats and run basic diagnostics on the systems. This is the first logged comprehensive check we’ve done and the first time we’ve been behind there.” Dagen gestured at the screen where it was found. He wasn’t getting any sense of ‘nerves’ that it was malicious. It shouldn’t take ‘that’ long to confirm whether it was left there or not by virtue of final log checks back on the Mars platform. Even if one forgot it and loged it as returned there was still the downloaded logs from the device in the system - provided it was there. However, there was always a chance. “Training involving the auxiliary is always done in holodeck sims. He looked at Deeg who was closing up the panel and viewscreen, then to Magnus. “We’ll definitely know if it has been used,” he said, “by checking the device. It would log any activity.”

“You’ve met those of my main team here Commander?” He knew that Magnus had met Deeg and Bot. He wasn’t sure if he’d met Sebastian and Angel yet.
- Thor, CE

“Mr’s Bot and Deeg yes, these other two no” He placed his hands behind his back and smiled at them “Care to introduce us?” He asked the Chief Engineer shooting him the same smile.

OOC: Will try this again .. got interrupted in my first attempt .. ugh.

Dagen caught Sebatians’ arm just as he was about to exit, while at that moment Seraph was entering. There was a decidedly even chance of a collision. “One moment Sebastian.” He paused, blinking at Dagen through his wide glasses. “Sebastian, this is Commander Petursson. Sir, this is JF Sebastian, a wealth of information and a man of detail and improvisation. ” The shorter man, himself not young, presented a shy smile.
“Commander, I, I’m pleased to meet you,” he said, equally shy and felt in no small way like trying to squirm away.
Conversely the Vulcan woman, stunning in her looks, her long dark hair sheened from black to a purple crimson at the edges stood stoic. Dagen introduced her. “And, Commander, this is Lt Seraph, or, as we call her, Angel. She and Sebastian make a good pair. Sebastian pushes the limits on things and Angel keeps him more on course. Angel is a structural engineer and keeps me apprised of whether the ship will fall apart around us or not. A slender brow rose at that.
“Commander,” she said with a tip of her head. “Peace and long life. Logically my work is, in part, to ensure that you have that, at least relating to the vessel not ..” she glanced at Dagen, “.. falling to pieces around us.”
Dagen, CE

Magnus gave both of them a smiling nod as they were introduced “Well then I hope the Lieutenants faith in you is not misplaced” He said without any tone of joking “So what work has been done here?” He asked looking around the Auxiliary Bridge, moving on from the introductions.

XO

Dagen nodded to Seraph. “Sir,” she began. “The six month preventative maintenance list includes a compulsory replacement of all isolinear chips and bio gel packs. Each are taken down for examination. That includes any detection of infection, virus, tampering, and log of use. As this is the auxiliary bridge, even if it is not utilized or activated, the chips mimic what goes on on the bridge - a form of dual backup in the event that action needs to be moved here. Additionally, consoles are checked for any functional malfunctions, the viewscreen updated to the latest software patches for smooth computer integrations. As well, individual stations are updated and activated to be independent of the main bridge for the test to see how they react to simulated pre-programmed ship situations that need to have reporting from all ship systems from sensors to plumbing to life support to transporters and so on. At this time the consoles and viewscreen are in the stages of being reassembled and prepared to test the simulation and tactile response.”
- Seraph

Magnus blinked “Well I can’t say much against thoroughness,” He said as he moved amongst the consoles “What are the most difficult aspects of performing such duties? Starfleet likes having contingencies, redundancies and spare parts a plenty but I know things never do go according to plan.”
