Marius had not stepped too far from the shuttle. =^=Raise the shield extending to protect me.=^+

Once the shield was up he shook his head. “Fire on us and we will defend ourselves.” As a space faring race the prime directive did not protect them to the same degree as a non-warp level technology race. “Tell me what you want.” Shooting at him would make it easy. He could do whatever he wanted then and the kidnapping idea Park came up with could be justified.

Marius

Deeg was voted most likely to stay inside and monitor things. Well, at least he was good at that. Using the sensors he did have the pairs of Pallasians who were hiding mapped out. They were in loose firing positions but he was more concerned on the situation. He heard the command on extending shields and did so, as well as having the transporter warmed up and locked. What he didn’t like was the communications and the way the leader sounded particularly unstable. The pair talking to the captain looked uncertain and unsure of what to do. As he used another display to bring up the communications frequency, he keyed the comms to the Captain but set volume low. =^= I can jam their comms =^= Deeg said quietly.
- Deeg

The two men fired and the beams was absorbed by the shields. This amazed the men. Then the voice on the radio said, “What are you waiting for?!” The two men shot again and the same thing happened.

“Our beams don’t touch them,” one of the men replied.

“Retreat for now!” came the answer.

GM

‘Well scratch that,’ he thought. “I can camp onto their frequency too - you could talk straight to the ‘voice’, sir,” Deeg continued ..
Deeg

“Captain I’d say we should follow them. We’re protected from Deeg in the shuttle.” Ben noted.

Park

The ‘pirates’ escaped underground. Both shuttle and tricorders were able to detect the hidden entrances. However, the extended shields would be less effective once underground. Besides, there were various booby traps that were above ground and underground. The triggers might be sprung once the trap is within the extended shields …

GM

Deeg highlighted the traps on the display for the Captain and Park to see better. =^= If this is the hospitality of the colony I’d hate to see what it is for the actual pirates =^= Deeg commented dryly. He could still lock onto one and snag him but the Captain didn’t want that technology known just yet. This was certainly a dead end and they hadn’t learned anything useful. And these were supposed to be the good guys.
- Deeg

Marius couldn’t help but be disappointed by the lack of communication. He walked back into the shuttle… “Can you find one of them alone?” He was now considering beaming one to the shuttle. They had fired on him and thus his hands off commit no crimes attitude had disappeared.

Marius

Deeg shifted to let the Captain see the screen with the plots of the pirates. “Mostly they seem to be in groups of two, though once they have gotten in their caves there that it shifts about.” Deeg thought that it looked more like he was watching an ant farm. He tapped at the screen. “Might have some luck with these here.” He pointed to two separate groups that looked like they might split up.
- Deeg

OOC: Sorry. I thought we were at the pirates lair not the colony area. I have been posting as if the shuttle was at the moon, where the pirates/rebels were hiding.

Kenson

OOC: No worries. We can work with that .. Gene

“Three is fine,” I want them to be beamed into a darkened room. We are going to stun them as they materialize, tie them up and bring them to the forward section.” Marius was done being diplomatic and they had tried to kill him so as far as he was concerned the gloves were off.

He turned to the two officers… “Very important, just agree with any thing I say… no matter how untrue. Also there may come a time where you are going to want to beam someone up… do so without asking me and put them in the storage hold. Remember, beam them up when the time comes…”

Marius CO

Ben nodded “Aye, Sir.”

Park

The group did split up. One group went towards the back where the leader was last seen. The others seemed to be moving towards a weapons installation.

GM

Ah good old covert stuff, Deeg thought to himself. Glancing back he thought there wasn’t a lot of room for this kind of thing. They were on a shuttle and not a runabout. But they could improvise. “Aye,” he replied as he was following the ‘ants’ about. “Two groups. One heading for their leader. The other to a weapons emplacement.” He cued in the sensors to learn what it was they were going to and if that was going to be turned on them.
- Deeg

“Captain I’d like to intercept the group from getting to the weapons cache.” Ben suggested.

Park

“I just want three, any way just as long as nobody sees them get beamed aboard. The stun and the dark will handle the rest.” Marius looked at the scanner. The fact it wasn’t a runabout changed his plans a little bit. “We are going to have to generate a screen between the main compartment and the transporter pads.” He started moving some things about. “We’ll make it work.”

Marius CO

The space was going to be tight. On one hand the space was extremely limited. The shuttlecraft they we in had only one transporter pad which would only transport two people at a time. The screen was easy enough, however to move the first batch transported so that the second batch does not transport into the first batch was going to be tricky.

OOC: I am basing on the Armadillo-class shuttle (https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/tm/armadillo.html) which has a single transporter pad.

GM

OOC: Yeah a runabout would work better.

“We have to build or replicate a screen to cover the transporter pads… Not impossible, but.. will take a little time.” Marius designed the thing with a quick punch on the computer pad. “While we work, get me the prisoners.”

Marius

Deeg watched the scanners. “Two would be easier than three,” he commented. As the things were shifted about in the small space Deeg highlighted then deselected them as they moved about and joined then broke up again. While he did so, which was more observation and patience, the engineer sought to tap into their comms frequencies. If they were going to launch a rocket at them he would rather like to know, and who knew what little bit of ‘trivial’ commentary might be useful. As soon as he had a viable selection, Deeg turned. “I have them,” he reported.
— Deeg

“Deeg erect a level 1 force field around them to contain them.” Ben looks over at the Captain ” with your permission Sir”

Park

Deeg peered back to look at the available space, making an expression of ‘oh this will be tight’. “Am on it,” he said. “Gonna be cramped ..” he said, “but it should work.” After a few taps and another ‘look back’ before nodding. “There,” he said to Ben.
