OOC: This ties into the Investigations side sim that I am running, just bringing in the Captain at this point.

IC:
On the Captain’s personal view screen on his desk, an alert popped up. The internal sensors had detected a very high concentration of tachyon particles in one of the Holodecks. Shortly after, another alert appeared, overlapping the sensor readouts.

LIEUTENANT RILEY DEKKER IS NO LONGER ON BOARD GENESIS.

-David/Riley

OOC: I’m not sure this is the way you’d want me to respond.

Marius head snapped up from the boring paperwork he as doing. =^=Red alert=^= He called as he slapped the comm badge on his chest. =^=Marius to bridge we have tachyon particles in Holodeck 2 and Dr. Riley is missing. Have security and engineering get on it. I want science to do and immediate scan of our vicinity… I’m coming to the bridge now. =^=

=^=Marius to Michaels report to the bridge immediately.=^=

Marius didn’t take long to stalk on the bridge. “Report.”

Marius

On the Bridge, Magnus sprang to attention ordering Security to trace the Chief Science Officers’ last known location and to the holodeck, he also ordered engineering to send someone with the security team. He didn’t need to give the Science a verbal order but did give them an affirming nod.

When the Captain arrived he turned around “I’ve ordered security and engineering to trace Micheals’ last location and to examine the Holodeck. Science is scanning right now” He exclaimed.

XO

With nothing to do until the departments reported.... Marius mumbled curses under his breath… the waiting was the worse… “Why would they take the CNS?” there was not tactical reason for that kidnapping. “It has to be personal.”

=^=Michaels to the bridge…=^= Marius repeated.

Marius

The second comm had come through as David was exiting the turbolift. “I’m here, sir.” He said, his voice wavering. He stood there, looking at both the Captain and First Officer.

“Counselor Dekker has been apprehended sir,” David said, locking eyes with the Captain. “He has been taken through a temporal vortex, sir. He is gone.”

-David Michaels, CSO

Marius looked at him confused. “Apprehended for what, by whom?” Michaels also happened to be the science officer which meant while he was answering he couldn’t do the scanning.

David opened his mouth to answer, but then found that words were escaping him. It felt as though he was in a tornado, his mind was racing, his body was tense and it felt like his world was being ripped apart.

Marius turned to Magnus, “Do you have a vortex anywhere?” He didn’t intend to let one of his officers be captured without putting on a chase.

Marius CO

Magnus practically jumped to his console and requested the internal scan data from the science console and looked for any Vortex or something similar.

XO

There was no evidence of any vortex inside or out of the ship.

“No!” David said, his voice raised, strained. He looked at Marius, his face flushed. “It was Jackson. Riley is gone.” He let out a exasperated breath. “It was all a set up, Jackson either wanted me or intended to take Riley, I don’t know.” As he talked, his speech became more rapid and the desperation and guilt was clear in his voice and body language. “It was a temporal vortex sir. Jackson took Riley somewhere in time. We have no way of tracking him.”

Marius looked from Magnus to Michaels. If Michaels said there was no to fix a temporal issue… he believed that.

As if hearing the words out loud had been a slap to the face, David suddenly stood erect, shoulders back, eyes locked with Marius. “I am fully prepared for whatever discipline you deem fit, sir. Confine me to the brig if you must.”

-David Michaels, CSO

“The Brig?” He snorted… there was a dozen times he wanted and Michaels deserved the brig… this wasn’t one of them. “For having a temporal Bad Guy kidnap one of my best officers… He might have wanted to get at you… but you didn’t do it.” He left out , for a change. He exhaled as if he was a suddenly opened balloon. “I want my 2nd officer back Mr. Michaels… no way I’m accepting ‘no way’.”

“I need a defense against it happening again and a detection system so I can get Dekker back… Those are your orders.”

Marius

“I…” David said, opening his mouth and then closing it. The two of them had been here at this very crossroads before. Calvin assumed David could just snap his fingers and use his knowledge of the future and easily solve their problems. This was one of those times where that was simply not possible.

“Without access to temporal technology there is little I can do,” David said. He bit his lip. “I can configure the sensors to more closely scan for temporal energies and anomalies.” He ran a hand through his hair. “I’m sorry sir.”
