The groups began to appear at the cargo bay. They looked bewildered and confused.

GM

Reia had stepped into the cargo bay seconds before the first group had arrived.

  • Reia, CIO

=^= Thor to Cargo Bay. We have reports of weapons fire before transport was complete. Are there injuries? =^= He wasn’t sure when Reia would show up there to take over. Medics were there in any case if there were Pallasians transported injured or needing assistance.
- Thor

OOC: Just a reminder … The Pallasians look like Voldemort in Harry Potter.

IC: The groups of Pallasians retreated in fear when they saw the Starfleet officers. When the last group appeared, there was one Pallasian bleeding and unconscious. It was the Pallasian who had the commbadge.

GM

Sage’s people had set up a medical station inside the cargo bay to treat injuries, disease and malnutrition. There were also a few pharmaceuticals to deal with anxiety should they need to calm anyone down. When the bleeding Pallasian ended up in the bay, she ordered that he be placed on one of the beds for treatment.

OOC: Not sure how in depth to go with this group. I’ll play it by ear.

—Sage

Reia observed the Doctor at work before turning back tot he group at large.

=^=Acknowledged bridge. The Doctor is on it.=^=

  • Reia, CIO

NE Matt Lock approached Reia. Three other security officers were posted along the other walls of the cargo bay, keeping a wary eye on the nervous Pallasians.

“Can I help you, ma’am?” he asked.

COS

“I’m here to assess the situation and make sure everything stays as calm and orderly as it can.” Reia replied.

=^= Dagen here. Is there only one injury? Is it severe? The perpetrator has been detained and all that are going to be beamed over have been. =^=
Thor

=^=There only seems to be one injury at the moment. I’m not certain how serious.=^= she replied.

  • Reia, CIO

OOC: I don’t know the details of the injuries…
Sage and two nurses were working on the injured Pallasian while another doctor was scanning those who had beamed up to make sure they were alright. The CMO had instructed him to make the rounds and introduce himself—let their guests know he was a doctor and that he and the other staff were there to help them. She thought it would help to calm some nerves if the ones who had just beamed up knew they were healers and not there to hurt them.

—Sage (feel free to tell me if I need to work on someone in particular)

OOC: Sorry for being late.

IC: The injured Pallasian was hit by a projectile discharged from the weapon of the guard. The sensors had detected the discharge and with the Pallasians trying to tell the doctors what happened, the medics somehow managed to get the picture. He had moved forward to shield a woman and her son. The projectile had hit him in the back. While it did not seem to have injured any major organs, it did embed itself just above the hip bone of the man. The projectile had broken a blood vessel and that caused the bleeding. The Pallasian’s blood did not seem to clot. A pressure bandage did help in the blood loss but it was only a temporary measure.

GM

=^= Lt, in your estimation what is the current needs there? More medical, security, support. We know a little about the food they eat but if you can get a small group to choose a sampling of foods from the replicator we can get an idea of what the replicators can put out for them. =^=
Dagen

OOC: I was hoping someone would contact sickbay or a medic … :)

GM

OOC: The CMO is here.

  • Catt

OOC: Repeating the post …

GM

OOC: I apologize!!! I have been really sick for an entire week and didn’t post. Thought I was going to have to go to the hospital as I couldn’t hold anything down, but I’m much better now. Hope everyone else is healthy!!

IC:
Sage and her team had found the injury. They were running scans to find out the components of the injured Pallasian mans’ blood. He’d lost a significant amount and it needed replacing. The projectile was still embedded in his flesh and would need removing. While the scans collected needed information, one of the nurses held a pressure bandage to the wound trying to staunch the bleeding.

Sage looked at the amount of blood on the bandage. “It doesn’t appear to be slowing down.” No organs had been hit, but she could see that a blood vessel had been severed. “Lets try a tissue regenerator and see if we can’t repair that tear.”

OOC: Does it work? Can she give him a transfusion? Or at least replace the volume of blood lost with something akin to a saline solution?

—Sage

The projectile embedded in the tissue of the flesh was removed and the blood began to become thicker. The tissue generator repaired the blood vessel and the bleeding stopped. It would seem that the projectile contained something that prevented the blood from clotting. The Pallasian had lost quite a bit of blood.

GM

Hearing all the commotion from the corridor, Ben entered the Cargo Bay in hopes of getting a status update on the refugees. Seeing a wounded Pallasian “Doctor Brennan what happened here?”
