V’Lat, rather casually, entered the sickbay with familiarity, he had been in a lot of sickbays over the years.

He tried to find someone before he just raised a hand. “Eh, Excuse me. I’m new here and require a physical examination.” He awaited and answer from anyone.

OOC: Wait…we have a V’Lath AND a V’Lat? And they are both Vulcan? And both Ensigns? Their characters will be mixed up by the crew continuously. Any chance V’Lat could add some more letters to his name?

D…

OOC: I have Morton at the end of my name and will usually address myself as such. If this does become a problem I’ll fix it. Thank you

Ensign. Morton, V’Lat (Engineering)

Sage had just finished with NELt Kazuko’s baby and its six month physical, so she was still smiling as she addressed the Ensign. “I can take you over here. Dr Brennan, and you are?” She would need his name to look him up in the system.

—Sage

V’Lat followed Sage as directed and addresses the question with “V’Lat Morton, Engineering. Should I provide ranking? if so Ensign.”

She gestured to a bed and then accessed the terminal there. “V’Lat Morton, Ensign.” Her fingers danced over the console. “Ahhh, there you are.” Emerald eyes scanned the medical record. (OOC: You don’t have any information in your bio so I will need to know if she finds something.)

V’Lat followed the gesture and layed down on the bed.

“Hmmm,” Sage said as she turned and scanned the young Vulcan. “You are extremely thin—even for a Vulcan. Have you always been that way or is this something new?”

—Sage

“Er, sorry. yes, it’s been like that since I was a kid, I’ve had trouble eating” He smiled for a moment, “But my previous doctor’s said it was alright, which to be honest has been a while. Sorry I’ve not been to the doctor for a while.” He looked rather guilty at this fact.

(OOC: Yeah, sorry. I have been a bit busy, I’ll update my bio soon. For now I’ll say you could find a benign cancer growth in his left kidney.)

OOC: Now its my turn to say life has been busy. My mom had surgery yesterday and has had a bad night. Also—work. sighs

IC:
How could he not have seen a doctor in a while? “Star Fleet demands regular check up, have you found a way to avoid them?” As she spoke, Sage scanned the young officer. “Hmmm…it looks like you have a growth on your left kidney.” She took her focus from the tricorder and looked down at him. “Perhaps you should have kept more regular checks with a physician…” It was an opportunity to identify how important good health was. “Not to worry…THIS TIME…its benign.” Gathering the appropriate tool and with a practiced hand, the CMO made short work of the cancer.

“Alright, everything else looks good, but I do think you need to put on a little more weight. A good start would be 20-25 pounds, which would still make you thin, but you would be a little more solid.”

—Sage

His eyes had gone into shock when he was given the diagnosis, “Yeah, sorry. I’ll come in regular checkups now.” V’Lat looked guilty on the fact that he avoided previous checkups, “I had found a way, luck. Something may have happened, I was never named and I never reported it.”
