Thomas strolled up to the door to the Counselor’s office and rang the chime. If the message he’d received (and sent) the night before had revealed anything, it’s that he was not in the best mental place, and hadn’t been for a while now.COS
V’Lath had just freshened his coffee and sat back down behind his desk when he heard the door chime. He had let his aide NE PO Wixen have the day off, so he called out “Enter”. Looking up as the door slid open, he saw LCdr McGregor, “Mr. McGregor, please come in. How can I help you today ?” V’Lath gestured to the two comfortable chairs next to the fireplace. “Can I get you anything, coffee, tea, juice?” V’Lath saw from the look on the Cdr’s face that this probably wasn’t a get acquainted visit.

“Not for now, Counselor,” Thomas said, taking a seat but leaning forward, elbows resting on his thighs just above his knees.
“I’ve got a family issue,” he began, slowly.
