LCdr McGregor had just left the office and V’Lath sat down with his coffee and stared at the cryptic note he had made on his PADD about looking up the officer he had met on the bridge, but he couldn’t recall meeting anyone he didn’t know on the bridge. Being intrigued and highly curious he began pulling up files and pictures of the officers on the Genesis to try and put a face and name to this enigma.

V’Lath had gone through three mugs of Vulcan coffee so far and still hadn’t found what he was searching for as he scanned through files and pictures of the officers on board the Genesis. He theorized that if he had met this officer on the bridge he could possibly be a senior officer. He had eliminated most of the junior officers as he either knew them personally or had been in contact with them professionally. As he scanned down through the senior officers and Department Heads, he found one he never remembered ever having met or even talked to, also there was very little information in the file, other than title and rank, also there was no psychological profile for this officer, which was strange of itself. V’Lath scanned medical records, personnel records, and even fitness reports and still found very little. He decided he would have to look this officer up and see if he was the one he couldn’t remember.

T’Lora knocked on the door, but didn’t bother to wait before entering. “What are you working on?”
-T’Lora

V’Lath looked up when the door opened, glad to see that it was T’Lora. “Glad you came by, maybe you can shed some light on a mystery for me. It seems I met an officer on the bridge previously and made a note look him up later, but for the life of me I can’t remember who it was or really even meeting them. I made a note on my PADD about it, and that’s what got me searching.” V’Lath took a sip of his ever present coffee. “Can I get you anything ? I’ve narrowed it down by going through records and I think it’s the Internal Security officer. Any ideas on this ?” V’Lath sat back and steepled his fingers in an anticipatory pose.

T’Lora nodded, knowing who V’Lath was talking about before he mentioned IntSec. “Lieutenant Commander Tom Jarvis, unless I am mistaken.” She tilted her head curiously leaning against the wall. “Why are you looking for him?”
-T’Lora

V’Lath picked up his mug of coffee, but sat it back down on his desk. “Out of curiosity more than anything else. I don’t make notes about people then have no recollection of ever having met them, especially after my years of study on Vulcan with the Kir’Shara scholars. Have you met LCdr Jarvis yourself ?”

V’Lath CNS

“Indeed. I daresay I would consider him a friend, although I am uncertain if he shares the sentiment.” T’Lora had studiously memorized their recorded conversation, and she hoped it was mutual, but as she couldn’t remember any cues or tells from the conversation, she wasn’t sure.
-T’Lora

“Apparently I need to meet this gentleman in person, he seems like a very interesting person.” V’Lath sat back in his chair. “I would also like to talk to you and Ben about a wedding gift I am prepared to offer. It would benefit you both and I am perfectly willing to impart this gift.”

V’Lath CNS

T’Lora raised an eyebrow, skeptical. “What gift?” Something about the way he said willing made her… unsettled.
-T’Lora

V’Lath sensed a certain reluctance from T’Lora before he had even made his proposal, but it was an offer only and that was the way he would proffer it. “Both of you would have to agree to it of course, but I would like to offer Ben a small bit of my Katra, it would enhance his health and possibly his longevity. This is a free offer, there are no strings attached, as they say, and I would understand if you both say no. It is the greatest gift I could offer, and you and now Ben are special to me.”
V’lath sat back and awaited T’Lora’s reaction.

T’Lora sighed heavily, sitting down with far less grace than usual. Her first instinct was to refuse. “Why?” She said quietly. “Of all the Vulcans in Starfleet, of the 17 on this ship, why me? Not because I was raised on Earth, T’Ral and Spad were raised on Earth as well.” It bothered her, in some way she could not describe.
-T’Lora

V’Lath took a deep breath and slowly released it. “I fully understand. It was an offer and that was all it was. Just know that I wish you and Ben a long and happy life together and hope that we can be friends, That is all I really wish.”

V’Lath CNS

T’Lora raised an eyebrow. “You may be the counselor, but I am equally skilled in the art of evasion. You did not answer my question.”
