Ben spoke up “I’ll go up the wall next. Hopefully what the Captain taught me when he was my Chief stayed in my memory” Ben grinned and waited to see who was scaling the wall first.

Park

Marius watched the debate with interest. He had learned how to do this by watching the previous marines go. It was interesting watching the logic process when someone didn’t already have the answers.

The two people being used for a base could be scampered up and then leapt off to get the top of the wall. If the jumper had enough strength to “chin/pull up” Marius was pretty sure all of them had that level of strength.

Marius

The vines were out and no ropes. Dagen frowned at the wall and gave it a glare that, were it a person, it would have collapsed and they’d simply walk over it. Perhaps they could push it over and be done with it. Or, alternatively, knock a hole in it. He sighed and rolled a sore shoulder. Running with that weight on his shoulders was challenging and was sore. His legs had only just stopped shaking and feeling the ‘light’ run. “I still think two of us on the ground and launch a person up to grab the top. Could do two of the lighter people before looking at any shoulder standing.” He looked at Sage and maybe Ben.
- Dagen

Magnus went to the wall “Sometimes the best way to get things done is just doing them” He turned his back to it and squat sat, putting his hands together “Let’s start with the eager Mr. Park” He said with a smile.

XO

Sage took another step forward. “I’d say just toss me up, but I’m not sure where my assets would work the best. I’m much stronger than I look.” She couldn’t even come close to matching the men in upper body strength, but she trained in swim or dance nearly every day, so she truly was stronger than most women when it came to holding her own.

—Sage

“This isn’t a straight pull situation anyways.” Marius explained. “You aren’t lifting a dead weight with a rope or something where you are responsible for all lifting power. You have a team mate on the wall and a person being lifted. So the lifting demands are split… not quite as much as three people should because everyone is pulling one way or another, but you certainly don’t have to lift the full body weight of anyone.”

Dagen was relieved that he was joined. He knew there were rocky moments in his past with the XO, years back with his courts martial. That had built into Dagen a cautious demeanor with him and had been a kind of uncertainty of his posting here and mixed feelings, at least initially. However, he had not known Magnus then and over the past couple of years the ‘caution’ was melting away. As he worked at linking hands to boost Park Dagen ran through the image of Park flying straight over the wall. That, however, was likely a wishful scenario of him being lighter than he looked.
- Dagen

Ben had checked the bridge and found that most senior officers were elsewhere, upon checking with the ships computer he found they were all in one of the holodecks. More curious than anything but also being responsible for the Captain’s and others safety he decided to check on them. Entering the holodeck he found a humid jungle like atmosphere and a trail leading off in the distance. Assuming that the others were down the trail he began jogging and after a short time came upon the small group standing before a wall across the trail. He slowed to a walk as he approached, “Sir’s, Ma’am, don’t mean to bother you, but thought I’d better check on you all.” He looked at the wall and realized it was very similar to obstacles he faced while in security officer training, and his martial arts sensei often had his students scaling various obstacles. He looked at the Captain, “Sir I’m sure they’ve all ready alerted you, but we have changed course and are on a new heading.” He eyed the packs stacked at the base of the wall and concluded that getting the packs over would be the harder part of the challenge. “I’ll let you all get on with it, sorry if I interrupted.”

Ben W. CoS (Temp)

Ben took a few steps back so he’s at least 10yds from the wall. He started running at a quick dash pace towards the wall.

Lt. Park

OOC: Is he going to run at Dagen and Marius and spring off them? Or is he directing this solely at the wall???

Marius

OOC: yes he is running toward Dagen and Marius Luke my mistake for being vague.

AJ

Magnus put his hands together and prepared himself for the TActical officer’s foot and the push-up.

XO

Marius didn’t really see the need for the extreme sprint, but it wasn’t going to be a problem. Ben would have no difficulty reaching the top of the wall and the only issue would be if he had enough strength to pull himself over.... Presumably this wouldn’t be a problem and then the rest of the team could be carried over. The group would write their scaling attempts and then figure out how to get the last person over.

Marius

The CMO watched as Ben took a running start at the wall. Apparently it didn’t matter too much what order they went in—so she just waited for her turn. How in the world were Cal and Magnus going to get over it? Could she and Ben pull one of them up? Maybe…

—Sage

Ben leapt up and sat down and leaned forward whilst straddling both sides of the wall at the top of the wall. He extended his arm as far as he can go so the next person can be pulled to the top.

Park

Dagen winced as Ben was levered up and he grunted with the effort of vaulting the man up, though, fortunately, successfully. He looked over to see whether Sage was ready. Could, between the two of them, get the rest of them up. He felt twenty years too old for this, but, he had to admit, it was a challenging thing that was getting his blood up in a good way. He glanced over at Sage. She seemed the next natural one to go for it. “You good up there Ben?” Dagen called. “Ready?”
Dagen

Marius looked a Dagen with a smirk and shrug. “Nobody likes being a step stool.” No matter how many times he had done this it always annoyed him a little bit… it was literally getting walked on.

She saw Dagen’s look and took a couple of steps closer to the wal. “Me next?”

—Sage

Ben with clear indication “Yes. I’m ready for Doctor Brennan” Ben had braced his legs firmly to both sides of the wall ensuring his stability as he laid horizontally on top.

Ben Park

“Uppsy, Daisy.” Calvin smiled… Sage on the other hand weighed a good 50 pounds less than Ben and probably would hurt much less… He nodded upward.

Marius

One foot on her husband and the other on the first officer, Sage reached up toward Ben and grasped his hands. Between the coordinated movements of all four involved, she was up and sitting on top of the wall in a matter of seconds. Now she AND Ben would be able to help pull the third member over.

—Sage

“I’m the heaviest,” Despite the fairly close heights of him and the other two men. “Which means I shouldn’t go last as I’m the hardest to lift.” He raised his eyebrowns, “It’s nice not to be a foot stool too.”

marius

Magnus chuckled “I’ll go last, sir, you can lift me up without much issue” He said matter-of-factly and prepared himself to lift the either the Captain or Thro next.

XO

Marius didn’t wait to see who wanted to go next. He sprung on Magnus with a surprising amount of dexterity for a man his size. He did feel heavier than he looked and each monsterous foot was painful. At the last moment he sprung off Magnus’ shoulders and then lifted himself with a grunt.

Marius

Magnus gritted his teeth at the Captain’s weight, like a damned Klingon. He made no visual expression except a slight sigh of relief when the Captain went off him.

Ben reached down as far as he could with his free hand to help lift Calvin up over the wall. Ben grunted “I don’t remember you being this built when you were Chief of Security Sir.”

Park

“Oh yes he was.” Sage commented. She’d met Calvin shortly after his arrival on the Genesis, and seen him naked not much longer after that. He might have had a little more fat overlaying his muscles back then, but that was simply because of his age. Now he was cut and had minimal body fat, but he had to work harder to keep his physique nowadays.

“Muscle is heavier than fat, or are you saying marriage has made me soft?” He looked over at Sage, “You might have to answer to the boss about that.”

Dagen had been prepared to launch one of them up but the Captain circumvented that with an agility that surprised him. ‘Part cat?’ Dagen thought in the way he essentially scaled the XO. “Guess that leaves me,” Dagen said with less conviction. Inside he had the sense that he would be able to do this with that confidence enhanced with testosterone, though he knew his limits and his own personal training did not involve climbing big walls. He looked up to Park and judged a boost from the XO and a reach from himself may get him into the ballpark of, er, Park. “Ready when you are, sir,” he said.
- Dagen

Magnus simply smiled at the Engineer “Go for it” He said bracing himself for the fourth time, it would be a relief to have someone so much smaller than the Giant of a Captain.

XO

Dagen got himself ready and looked up at the tall wall before him. An engineer would have gone around, or through … or built something to get over it …

Calvin hung on the wall. His belly on the top, His legs on one side and hanging the majority of his upper torso on the other. He was able to reach down over three feet with his body and the length of his arms. “Hustle, hustle… twenty marines could have cleared this wall in this amount of time.”

Marius

“Twenty marines could have made a pyramid that we could have walked up to get over this,” he commented as he made a lunge with Magnus’ help …

He hadn’t needed their help to top the wall, but both she and Ben reached out to help the Captain. “You know, you men could at least try to make me feel like I’m helping in some way.”

—Sage

.. his lunge took him up .. reaching for available hands which, at the crowded top of the wall, seemed that Marius and Sage were the closest …
- Dagen

Calvin hung down the wall farther than she did, but Sage was very limber and leaned over till she was stretched to the limit. She saw Dagen launch himself up off the XO’s body and as chance would have it, he was angled more towards her and Cal. She held her hand out to catch one of his and readied her body to catch his weight.

—Sage

Magnus turned around to look at how Thor was doing with his climb.

XO

Magnus would see that he had initially missed the Captain’s hand, or the Captain had missed his while in flight, and that he currently dangled by way of Sage having his right arm. “Good grip,” he said to her, more out of gratefulness than surprise as he floundered in the air pivoting his left arm and body to bring it in line with a second try with Marius. “If you would be so kind, Captain. I don’t mind hanging around but there are better places ..”
- Dagen

Marius half leaned half swung over to take part of Thor’s weight off of Sage. No matter how strong she was, she was lighter than Thor and he could find a way to pull her down - instead of her pulling him up. “Sure, sure… like I don’t know what you are up to.” He groaned as he was out of position. “Grab the girl’s hand.” He nodded. “Smart.”
