Further probing of the computer showed schematics of a space ship with three warp nacelles. They were placed protruding from the middle of a rocket shaped vessel at equal distance from one another.

OOC: Search online for “Thunderbird 3” and you will get a rough idea of what the ship will look like.

GM

“That’s an… interesting design,” Thomas chimed in. “Not that we haven’t operated ships with odd numbers of nacelles before, but I wonder what made them settle on three?”

He phrased it as a question, but wasn’t really expecting a response from a mere security guard.

“We really should have brought an engineer,” he mused aloud. He knew a little bit about engineering, but advanced warp theory and mechanics were well out of his conversant range. His siblings’ interest in the subject had tended more towards ground-based structures, not starships or their related systems, after all.

“Lieutenant,” he said to Shandy, “download a copy of those schematics and upload them to the ship. Perhaps Commander Thor might find them interesting.”

IC:
Reia knew this was probably just the kind of thing Dagen would find interesting so, she downloaded it and prepared to upload to the Genny as instructed.

OOC: They were supposed to find out what the government knew of the potential invasion and if there was any way they reached the level of first contact so the Genesis could make a political contact and perhaps put them under protection.

OOC: … oops…

IC: “I’d say this would qualify as a warp-capable world, wouldn’t you?” Thomas asked both Reia and Ben.

COS

Reia nodded and smiled.

“Well that rudimentary warp engine isn’t a figment of my imagination. If it is I’d call this a shared hallucination, wouldn’t you?” she asked.

  • Reia, CIO/Comms

“Well, that’s the good news,” Thomas said, fiddling with his tricorder to send Reia a message.

‘The bad news is, we’ve probably rather stuffed things up in terms of first contact by means of breaking and entering, then tying up one guard and taking the other hostage,’ it read.

COS

‘It wouldn’t be the worst first contact on record.’ was Reia’s response.

  • Reia, CIO/Comms

OOC: Hint: you will need to contact either the authorities or the people developing the warp engine …

GM

“Well, I guess it’s time to put our official ‘first contact’ hats on, then,” Thomas said, turning his attention to the native they’d dragged along.

“I don’t suppose your people’s extra-terrestrial contact dramas have the ‘Take me to your leader’ cliche, do they?” he asked.

COS

Ben quietly chuckled at Thomas’s question.
