Reia hardly worked in her office anymore. One of the benefits of being married to the CE was that he had set her up an amazing work station in her quarters. Unfortunately, due to the sensitivity of her job, she couldn’t keep all of her files there. She would slip out occasionally and find herself here.

The chime to Reia’s office rang announcing a visitor.

Reia was actually surprised that someone would come to her office directly.
“Open.” she said.

The door opened and revealed the first officer leaning on the entryway, his usual almost smirk of a smile on his face “Lieutenant, no scented candles for me this time?” He asked in a casual tone. Magnus pushed himself of the doorway and entered the room, habitually scanning it for potential threats albeit in a casual manner.

Reia looked up and couldn’t help but smile at the XO.
“No scented candles this time but I do have some delightful dark chocolates/ Just in that basket on the corner of the desk. I bet you can’t eat just one. Either way, what can I do for you today Commander?”
She noticed the way he casually scanned the room. It didn’t bother Reia in the least. They both knew it would take more than a casual scan to detect anything that he might consider a threat?

OOC: I realize that I worded it awkwardly but it was a visual scan, not a tricorder scan, if you misunderstood me that is, if not then stop perceiving these words -

IC:Magnus eyed the chocolate for a moment, pursing his lips “It was said on ancient Earth that the creator made women to tempt men but I think it was in fact chocolate” He said taking a step forward and sitting down “Guess you could call it my quarterly review. Haven’t bothered the senior staff in their own turf for a while” He casually crossed his legs and leaned back “How are you settling with the Comms position alongside your other duties?” He asked occasionally glancing towards the chocolate, if he was a paranoid man he’d think that Shandy put that there specifically to trap him but no, that was impossible… unless it wasn’t.

Reia observed Magnus as he sat and talked with her.
“I find the two positions dovetail quite nicely. The security clearances definitely work in my favor. If this ship were prone to intrigue, I could be your best friend.” she said leaning forward and smiling, “But we all get along fairly well here don’t we? Still, it’s all good practice now isn’t it? I enjoy the way these positions work together and I think studying to become the Comms Officer was definitely the right choice for me.”

Magnus took a rather casual seating position, relaxed almost lazy in his lean back, on arm behind the back of the chair. He smiled at her words, almost an amused smirk “Oh Lieutenant Shandy you already are my best friend” He said with a very slight short chuckle “I am glad you are enjoying your position. So how’s married life treating you?” He asked

Reia kept her eyes on Magnus’ face and her smile changed to a softer one.
“My husband is very happy. So am I actually but, I’ve never lived with a man before so it’s kind of a learning curve for me but, I have an incredibly accommodating spouse.”
Reia couldn’t help but giggle just a bit the way one might do with a best friend.
Leaning forward she reached to the edge of the desk and plucked a chocolate from the box. Biting it, she savored the taste of the liquor inside.
“Mmm. Apple. What do you know?”

Magnus’ eyes narrowed at her and he gave her an accusing look “Well that’s good. Never saw the appeal of marriage personally but I like to see people happy” he smiled slightly “It’s funny, the last time I paid you a visit here was just after my little welcoming party, you never gave me an answer on your conversation with Dagen and now” He shrugged “Well I wish I’d been a little less new, then I might have been able to get a pool going, win some coin” He smiled playfully.
