“Alright then, that’s the plan. Park, you stay with me,” Thomas said, breaking the huddle and returning to Mr. Menn, while Reia slipped out to comm the Genny.

“Mr. Menn, would it be possible for us to speak to one of the project engineers? The chief, if possible. I understand it’s the middle of your night cycle here, but we would appreciate the opportunity.”

COS

Ben was curious if this would work with minimal interference from these people.

Park, BO /Tactical

Menn sounded more curious than impatient, “Is there anything else you might want to know?”

GM

“Well, the design is rather unique, compared to what we usually see,” Thomas said, trying to phrase it politely. “I have some questions about why he chose that particular configuration, and would like to take a look at his field equations.”

COS

“You will meet the designer, Esther Krill, if you are willing to go to our launch site,” replied Mean.

For some reason, Mean was quite eager to show the vessel to the visitors.

GM

Ben whispered to Thomas “I’d like to see the vessel and it’s capabilities if that’s ok with you while you’re meeting with the designer.”

Park

“I’m quite willing,” Thomas replied. It would probably be fine to take a trip here, he reasoned. Unless their cars were made of kelbonite or something else that would block the Genny from beaming them back…

COS

From the data collected earlier by their tricorders, there would be a test launch in 10 hours time.

GM

OOC: And correct me if I’m wrong, but we don’t know that the Genny’s gone haring off to the next system at this point, right?

Brandon

OOC: I believe so. Yet, I think that you can still communicate with the ship.

GM

IC:
By this time Reia had rejoined them and decided to remain silent till she had time to speak with Thomas.

  • Reia, CIO/Comms

OOC

“I’ll give you a moment to make the arrangements for our visit to the launch site,” Thomas told Menn, while stepping back and beckoning Reia over.

“Well?” he asked quietly.

COS

Reia shook her head and put her finger to her lips.

“I received no response so, we are on our own.” she stated.

  • Reia, CIO/Comms

“Oh, great,” Thomas said. “As if I wasn’t feeling exposed enough down here…”

COS

Reia had been in situations similar to this but she was usually on her own. Having two colleagues with her was something she was a bit unfamiliar with.

“I suggest we proceed as normal, whether the Captain can communicate with us or not, at the moment, we still have a job to do.” she said calmly.

  • Reia, CIO/Comms

“I agree. I still think we need to keep our answers to a minimum to prevent suspicion.”

Park

“Yeah, spending time in a barely-warp civilization’s prison is not my idea of a fun time,” Thomas agreed. “Nor, on my list of things to do down here, so whatever we can do to avoid that, I’m going to do.”

COS

“Yes sir” Ben looking at Shandy whispering “is there a way that we can make a temporary buoy so the Genesis can find us easier?”

Park

Reia’s first thought was if they wanted an engineer they should have asked her husband but, that was just her nerves talking. This situation also called for comms knowledge.

“If we link our com badges together and, send out a signal on the distress channel, it would be more powerful that way.” she explained.

  • Reia, CIO/Comms

OOC: Sorry for being absence. I was overwhelmed with RL work as one of my colleagues had an assignment elsewhere and I had to cover for him.

IC:

Two people entered the room and brought some food with them. “It has been quite a while since we have met. Perhaps we could use some nourishment?” Mean said.

GM

Reia took out her tricorder and began to scan the food with relation to the physiology of her and her companions.

“Thank you, that’s most appreciated.”

  • Reia

“Could you tell us what it is?” Thomas asked, hoping he could get through the explanation without his stomach rumbling. It had been several hours since a rather unsatisfying lunch for him, after all.
