Menn saw the rest of the away team move back into the room and he stood up and said, “Are you able to set off to the launch site? If you can have some refreshment before we leave, it would be helpful as we do have quite a lot of ground to cover.”

GM

“Yes, we’ve updated our ship on our activities and can proceed,” Thomas told him.

Ben nodded at Menn “if you have water, that’ll be great.” Ben grabbed his pack in his left hand “Mr. Menn how long are we traveling to the site from our current location?”
Park

“We will take 5 hours at least,” Menn replied. “Part of the journey will be over difficult terrain. Our transport vessels are hardy but over difficult terrain, we prefer to exercise caution.”

GM

“Any particular reason the trip will be done solely via ground transport? Do you have any short-range transport aircraft?” Thomas asked. Five hours in an alien car… well, there was always “99 bottles of romulan ale”…

COS

Tom’s voice came across the comms once again.

=^=Landing party, please advise on your situation.=^=

-Tom, IntSec

=^=Heading towards secondary site 5 hours from our present location. Will advise en route.” Reia said.

OOC: I am assuming no intervention during the transport.

IC:

The transport was bumpy but not terribly uncomfortable. The vehicle entered into a tunnel at the side of a mountain. Then when it finally stopped, the team emerged into a very large hangar. It was not very sophisticated but it was adequate for the large rocket that they could immediately recognise as the space vehicle. Their tricorders were able to detect a very primitive Matter/antimatter warp engine. From what the team could see, the rocket would be able to reach warp one.

GM

Thomas could appreciate the desire for secrecy and containment that sticking a facility like this inside a mountain would offer, but also knew intellectually that if the M/AM reactor lost containment, being inside a mountain wouldn’t really matter much, as the explosion would wipe out not just the facility, or the single mountain, but the better part of the entire range.

“Impressive facility,” was all he said out loud.

COS

Reia stood next to Thomas taking copious notes. She was using other less obvious surveillance techniques as well but that was just the nature of the position.
