As he went to the counselors office but rang the bell before entering that way he and his sister can attend a Family Therapy with the counselor. He Thinks that it is the best thing for them cause they need to work out their differences. Although, he was so unsure about this but he has agreed to do it.

Lt. Angel

Vanessa heard the chime and answered “come in” but did not open the door as usual. She had placed herself on the couch instead of one of the armchairs she normally sat in during sessions. This would force the siblings to take the chairs. Psychologically is created distance for them and their own space.

Vanessa Slade CNS

“Hello, counselor.” He said as he walked inside.

Lt. Angel

“Hello,” Vanessa said nodding at Lucas. “Please have a seat.” Vanessa did not waste time getting personal orders for drinks in family therapy. Beverages often gave someone a prop to hide behind or fiddle with when things became uncomfortable; however, getting them in the middle of a session tended to waste time. As Lucas sat down in one of the chairs facing Vanessa, he would see a tray with basic’s set out: Coffee, Tea, and water. “Help yourself to something to drink if you want while we wait for your sister. For the record I can not keep her here if she chooses to leave nor can I keep you. Neither of you have warranted an order to come here so the door is open to come and go as you please.”

“Yes counselor of course. I’m not too worried.” He said.

She also got a notice from the counselor as well about something to do with a family therapy. Which she had no knowledge about so she went to the counselor’s door and rang the chime. Didn’t even know why she was called there wondering if she was gonna see her idiotic older brother that she doesn’t like. Although her not knowing that the therapy session was in session at all, she was worried that this might affect her duties in the medical bay.

Ensign Angel

“Come in,” Vanessa said hearing the second Angel arrive at the door.

Lucas Angel

“Hello counselor. What’s he doing here?” She said as she looked surprised.

Lyndzie Angel

“Well according to the invitation I sent it said that your brother here wanted to talk about things between you and him. You had to have read the message to know the date and time for you to show up. Before we start I need to make it perfectly clear to both you and your brother that this is not official in the sense you were not ordered but invited to attend. I can not make you or your brother stay if you choose to leave however if you do want a change to happen I would suggest giving this a try.” Vanessa needed to make sure both parties knew the door was not locked and barred for the next fifty five minutes. She hoped they would both stay and work on whatever was driving them apart. If they or one of them chose to leave, she needed to make sure they both understood Vanessa could do nothing to order them to stay or set up another appointment.

Vanessa Slade CNS

“Yes counselor I did read it. I understand that I am not here by a direct order but as it is. It was a invite so I decided to come. I believe my dumb brother could say the same.” She said laughing at the fact she called her brother dumb. Although she knows that he’s not dumb she just wanted to make fun of him.

Lyndzie Angel

Vanessa did not let Lyndzie bait her into a conflict. People were not always pleasant or happy in her office. Sometimes they wanted conflict instead of resolving and rarely was it as black and white as one person innocent and they other guilty. “Can I offered you a drink? If not please take a seat we can get started. So what brings you both in here today.” Taking a sip of her coffee Vanessa waited.

Vanessa Slade. CNS

“Well counselor I want to talk to you about my annoying little sister being a rude little turd. She destroyed my last relationship and I hate her for it.” He said with an angry tone looking at her. He then looked at the counselor. “I’m sorry counselor that wasn’t right.” He added.

Lt. Angel

Vanessa let Logan rant. It was part of the process. Things like this were emotional events for those participating in them and Logan obviously had a lot of animosity toward his sister. Taking sip of her coffee she looked at Lyndzie. “So why are you here Lyndzie,” she asked calmly.

Vanessa Slade CNS

“I don’t know. I’m not so sure why I’m here. Other then I don’t like my brother.” She said.

Lyndzie Angel

“Okay, so my job here is to listen as you both talk. We can sit here for an hour and stare at each other but that is not productive so which one of you wants to go first? We can talk about anything. How about something you both did as children that you liked?”

Vanessa Slade CNS

“Counselor. I don’t know about this. She and I don’t get along at all. Maybe video would’ve been easier.” He said.

Lucas Angel

“Well you don’t have to be here and as I said I can not keep you here so you can either decide to take a seat or leave.” Vanessa’s tone was soft but matter-of-fact. “This is not ordered therapy. Its choice therapy and I can not make you stay but the idea of video therapy is childish and stupid. You are not light years away where that is something we use.” Vanessa waited quietly to see what the two siblings would decide on about how to proceed. It was a rather odd situation in that normally people came to therapy but Vanessa wasn’t sure the two siblings wanted to stay or leave.

Vanessa Slade.

“Of course counselor.” As he stood up and left.

Lucas Angel

Vanessa watched Lucas walk out and took a long sip of her coffee. While it was unprofessional for therapists to take on emotions during sessions, she could not help but feel rather annoyed at the turn of events. He was the one that professed to want to make changes in his relationship with his sister but the first bump and he skidded off the road. Sure his sister was being difficulty but his sister did not walk out.

“But I don’t understand. What did I do?” She asked.

Lyndzie Angel

“Nothing,” Vanessa instantly assured the woman. “Thank you for coming. You didn’t have to but it showed great courage.”

Vanessa Slade

“Counselor. If you dont mind me asking what’s his issue with me. I didn’t do anything to him.” She said.

Ensign Angel.

“Well even if I could answer that I am not allowed by confidentiality. That was the point of today. To talk about things out in the open. Sometimes it takes people a few tries before they follow through. Sometimes people never do. I do appreciate you coming today,” Vanessa replied

Vanessa Slade. Cns

“Oh I understand counselor.” She said.

Ensign Angel.

Vanessa looked at Ensign Angel and wasn’t sure what to do next. The woman did not leave with her brother and yet still hadn’t taken a seat. It was that weird moment where one wondered if a person was going to go right or left. She was more than welcome to sit down and talk but Vanessa understood if she left since the purpose of the visit was family counseling and there was no more family in the room.
