“Daddy’s home,” Marius said as the doors opened. “Mr. Pétursson report, and please tell me the kids haven’t gotten themselves into trouble.” Marius was reasonably pleased with how his part of the mission went… he presumed that the ship board side went just as well, even though their side was more difficult they also had more equipment and personnel. He took a few strides and stood next to the Captain’s chair. He didn’t sit on it, but rested a foot on the leg rest, almost like the Captain in the Captain Morgan’s commercial.

Dagen noted that Deeg was running a post mission check and gave his virtual thumbs up from that. When the Captain came to the bridge Dagen relaxed and sat at the engineering console. Given that they were on their way back and that they likely were seen heading out to the colony direction Dagen wanted to see what the home team was doing. Extending the sensors to the Pallasian homeworld, Dagen had a peek at what activity was happening there in space.
- Dagen

Magnus stood up from the central chair, gracefully stepping aside as the Captain approached “Only one Pallasian injury that Doctor Brennan is treating him, I understand it was the one carrying a Combadge. We also have a single prisoner in transporter room 1, inactive weapons and probably in need of a change of trousers” Magnus said with a half-smile “I sent Ensign Shandy to take charge of the Cargo-bay and to see to any potential security risks.” he reported.

XO

“There should be much of a risk....” Marius stiffened for a moment… “Did anyone tell the Pallasians that we were rescuing them, not re-kidnapping them.” He cursed himself inwardly. He hadn’t given the order and if he hadn’t - they probably didn’t know to…

He looked at Magnus… “please, tell me someone thought about that, since I forgot.”

Marius

Dagen turned and shook his head. No comms to Pallasia from him. Details were rather slim to begin with. On his part he’d not know whom to even communicate to.
- Dagen

=^=Marius to Cargo bay…=^= He paused, =^=The transportees might be confused, they may not be aware that we are ‘rescuing’ them from their position as hostages to the pirates and intend to return them to their home-world unharmed. Those who wish to return to the moon and ergo the pirates we accommodate their request.=^=

Marius

Magnus turned to the Captain “Perhaps I should head downstairs, see to the people and perhaps learn something about what was going on there, there’s some valuable insight in what these people have suffered.”

XO

Marius said nothing, but he tilted his head to the turbo lift doors. People who were more familiar with former security officer, chief, and XO would know that him not speaking was more to prepare his officers for a time that they were in a position that they couldn’t use words to communicate. It was important for the command crew to know what each other thought with a glance or a nod.

CO

There was a slight hesitation in Magnus as he made sure that he understood the non-verbal command correctly. He quickly nodded his head and moved to the turbolift.

XO

Marius blinked at him innocently enough. His face an emotionless mask. He wasn’t giving him much a clue one way or another but since he made no effort to correct him, the commander was likely correct.

Tom didn’t make trips to the bridge very often but, sometimes, he enjoyed the scenes playing across the main viewer. Besides, the bridge was where interesting things tended to happen and it was nice to get out of his quarters on occasion even if much of the ship’s crew gave him a wide berth.

The lift doors opened and Tom stepped onto the bridge. He knew where the sensor blind spots were and tended to gravitate towards them. Old habits and all.

  • Tom, IntSec

Marius turned when someone didn’t quickly enter his line of sight after the turbolift doors opened. He subconsciously moved to the point where his comm badge should have been. He had learned to audio record his encounters with the Internal Security Officer lest he forget the meeting. “Mr Jarvis, did I order you to try to collect information from the natives… you likely could question them and they would never be the wiser if you happened to hit areas they didn’t want to talk about.”

Marius

Thomas blinked in confusion at the sudden appearance of the new man, who the Captain was addressing with familiarity. He really didn’t like the look of the man’s uniform.

COS

“No sir, you have not.” Tom shook his head.

Tom could have left it at that but out of a sense of duty and a desire to do something he asked… “Would you like me to?”

  • Tom, IntSec

Marius smirked, “I didn’t think you needed an invitation. Do what you do best.” Marius for the second time in five minutes nodded towards the turbo-lift.

The only indication that Tom had left, for those that weren’t looking at him, was the sound of the lift doors opening and closing.

As the Captain paced the deck, the computer on the arm of the command chair chimed with a personal incoming message. He walked over and punched in the access code. Meet me in holodeck 3 at 2000 hours. I don’t care what you’re doing, your wife needs some alone time with you. Dress formally (okay, you can skip the tie :)

—Sage

Marius growled, formal for him meant that he wouldn’t wear his new/old marine tee-shirt. His old/old marine tee shirt being lost with the old Genesis. He was still a little pissed about that.

Dagen had little to practically do at this time. He knew that could change at any moment. Ship systems were good. Deeg had sent a message up that the shuttle was in good shape beyond a wash. They were on their way back. Idly he scanned ahead of them. The Genesis had left a bit mysteriously. What were the ships in orbit doing? Any interesting transmissions he could pick up?
- Dagen, CE

“While we unconfuse the natives we can make our way back to the home-world. And lets get a Pallisian Official on the line. We are going to have a little explaining to do.”

Marius

Well, that was at least something Thomas could do. Since Park was down in the Cargo Bay, anyway. He moved to relieve the NE at Tactical, and sent a communications request to Pallas.

“Calling now, sir,” he reported.

COS

The reply came almost immediately. “Federation starship, I thought you had gone back …”

GM

=^=We had in interesting request from your ‘pirates’. =^= Marius paused hoping the Pallasian would reveal something.

=^=Many of them claim to be hostages and others claim that they were manipulated into crimes by the possession of those hostages. Why wouldn’t your nation liberate prisoners of a terrorist group? We don’t much like kidnappers or non-combatants and children.=^=

Marius

David manned the main science station, keeping all sensors active, both internal and external. He wanted to be alerted the moment something out of the ordinary appeared.

He half-heartedly listened to the conversation the Captain was having. He would be glad when they would be gone from here and away from these people.
