OOC - I’ve been on here for like four months and never dealt with something medical. Feel free to burn yourself with your breakfast or something, I just want to get some practice in before the sim gets into full swing.
IC-
T’Lora walked to sickbay. The party had started to die down, and everyone had started dispersing. She knew she wasn’t likely to do much on shift, just minor bumps, and bruises, but she found herself looking forward to it anyway. Some morbid part of her hoped people would decide to come to sickbay and get treated rather than wait for their small cuts to heal themselves.
-T’Lora (who isn’t feeling much like a doctor right now)
OOC: I’ve been there. Good initiative .. Gene

As Ben was making his rounds, he noticed that he was starting to limp from the bruise he had received in the Escrima sparring session, and it was really sore. He decided that since sickbay was on his current route he’d drop in and get it looked at. As he entered sickbay he noticed an Ensign sitting behind a desk. He hobbled over to the desk. “I think I may have gotten injured worse than I thought during a sparring session. At first it was just a bruise, but it keeps getting more painful, and now it hurts to walk. I wonder if you could look at it.” Ben hoped he could get maybe a quick injection or something and be on his way. “By the way I’m Ben Wilkinson the new Security Officer.”

Ben JSO - Usually bruised and battered either mentally or physically.

T’Lora had been sitting at the desk for half an hour when an Ensign entered the room. She noted he was limping as he approached. As he spoke she stood up, moving to his side. “I am T’Lora, come sit down.” She took a hold of his arm, guiding him to the nearest biobed.

After he was seated, she grabbed her medical tricorder and ran it over his leg. “You are fortunate. It seems to be a muscle tear, albeit a large one. It is easily fixable in 20 to 30 minutes.”
-T’Lora

Ben gingerly moved on the biobed. “I appreciate that because that’s about all the time I can spare right now. You”re the first Vulcan I’ve really talked to. I mean I saw several at the academy, but they were mostly in the sciences or like you, the medical field, while I was in the security track, so we didn’t get to meet socially or professionally.”

Ben JSO - making friends and acquaintances

She nodded “That is how it tends to be for many.” She met his eyes. “You have two options. I can give you a painkiller that will last five hours before I start the repair, I can give you a very small dose of a less precise painkiller, or you can elect to have it repaired without. Take your time. If you go with the first option, you will likely have to stay here for slightly longer so that most of the effects can wear off.” She knew she was not seeming especially amicable, but she was working.
-T’Lora - socially awkward in a professional, and personal setting

Ben decided to go ahead and get the muscle tear repaired in case a situation arose that required him at full capacity. “I think I’ll go ahead and have it repaired, as the better option. I can spare the time for that I think.” Ben lay back on the biobed and watched as the sickbay became busy.

Deeg came into sickbay. He tended to avoid that as much as he could. One never knew what they might to do a person, but he had been having headaches lately that was not going away and the Ensign who was way too old for his rank figured he would risk it. A bit mousy in appearance with brown eyes darting nervously about as though expecting something to leap out at him, Deeg was otherwise nondescript. Seeing that the one principle medic was occupied, Deeg took a seat to wait, reading an article on his PaDD entitled .. It’s only Paranoia until it Comes True.
- Deeg, Eng NE

Tigeress came in right behind Deeg. Her right hand paw swollen with a dried blood on it. Her thick fur hiding the night wound. She half smiled at Deed. “ what brings you here. She asked takin a see a few sets away from him. She winced as she set her hand paw in her lap. “ yap something was definitely broken” she thought. “ i had a disagreement with a dog like animals. Actually I think he’s more wolf like then dog” she said shaking her head.
Ensign Tigeress

Deeg had done a job in Tigeress’ lab once, but, as usual, nobody had noticed him. The job he remembered was related to upgrading the biofilters to and from the lab. Her smile, while friendly-ish, looked feral to him. “Uh, headache,” he said, nervously scratching at an eyebrow as he glanced at her .. paw. He had half a mind to ask whether said wolf was part of the crew, for one never knew in a galaxy of amazing beings. “Sounds very painful,” he said, feeling for her. He’d been bitten by dogs but nothing ‘that’ big.

She looked up, noting that she had an Ensign and a Lieutenant waiting for her. “Think about it. I will be back soon.”

She turned and walked back to the waiting area. Taking a moment to assess the two, she noted that the Ensign seemed rather nervous. “I am T’Lora. What seems to be the problem?” She grabbed PADDs of the nurse who walked by, directing her to give one to Ben as well. “Please fill these out. Your medical file will be automatically updated.” She handed one to both of them.
-T’Lora

“She’s w-worse,” Deeg said, stuttering slightly. “Just a headache here.” He took the PADD and wondered whether the information would be transmitted all around. As if it already wasn’t. Maybe they caused it and they were wondering about the success of it, he mused, ticking off the boxes as he read them.
- Deeg

T’Lora looked carefully at his face. He seemed pained and nervous, so she decided to leave it at that.

Tigeress ears lay back against her head and her tail curled over her injured hand paw hiding it from view. The Lieutenant who most would describe and a humanoid white tiger was well know for her distrust of new people. She was not exactly a social butterfly. “ Thank you, it nothing major just a disagreement with are new is addition to the zooalogy lab” she said as she accepted the pad. She carefully balinced it on her lap and started to fill out the information.

Lt.JG Tigeress

T’Lora nodded. “I hear those are common.” she said wryly. “Anything important? Disease, venom, etc.?” She hoped the Caitian knew. Unknown animals were still dangerous, even as advanced as they were now.
-T’Lora

“ no he was just a wolf like creature” Tigeress said almost dismissively. She know the animal did not have an kind of toxins or disease. He just was just scared and was startled by one of the other animals. He did have an impressive bite that she was avoiding mentioning on purpose. “ do I give this back to you or to one of the nurses” she asked.
Ensign Tigeress

T’Lora nodded. “That is fortunate. I can take it.” She took the PADD and made several notes. “If you would come take a seat?” she gestured to the biobed next to Ben. “I can scan you in just a moment.” She realized it was likely more serious than the Lieutenant was mentioning, but it wasn’t a big problem. “Any job comes with its dangers no?”
-T’Lora

“ not normally In my case” tigress said as she moved to the indicated Bio bed. As she settled her still curled her tail over the injured hand keeping it partly out of view. The Lieutenants recorded would indeed show that she had never had such an incident before. She looked over to the new security officer for a moment. “He was at the party wonder what his name is” she thought.
LT. JG Tigeress

She walked over with her tricorder out. “I must say, being bitten is one of the least pleasurable experiences I have had.” She gestured for Tigeress to put her paw out. “On a scale of one to ten, how do you rate your pain?” She fiddled with the tricorder taking scans of the bones as she talked.
-T’Lora

“It not to bad many a two.” she said. that was definitely a lie and only a slight twitch in her excretion as she held her paw out told other wise. The trycorder was clear though. she had three bones broken in two places in her hand. The bight puckered both back and front of her paw. the paw was swollen and there was sines of an immune response to microorganisms from the animals saliva. ” As for being Bitten i think i prefer that to crowds” She said trying to be social.

T’Lora stifled a laugh. “You broke your trapezoid, trapezium, and pisiform bones. There are also signs of the beginning of an infection.” She gestured a nurse over. “We can use an osteogenic stimulator on the bones and a general booster for your immune system.” The nurse began preparing things as she spoke.
-T’Lora
“OK, Is something funny?” She asked. she was now confused. Vulcans did not laugh did they. why were humanoids so complicated. she put her paw back in her lap she was unwilling to try ignoring the increasing pain as she held the limb up for the doctor. She was not willing to admit that she was in any pain and not willing to show it. very much like most injured animals. Tigress was more animal then most realized.
LT.JG Tigress

She shook her head. “You merely reminded me of someone I grew up with. He often said he would rather contract Rigelian Fever than visit a place where there were more than a hundred people.” She noticed Tigress seemed confused. “I grew up on Earth. My father was a member of the V’Tosh Ka’Tur, Vulcans who believe emotion should be shown.” She grabbed the hypospray off the table, pressing the button and putting it back in one fluid motion.
-T’Lora

Tigress flinched the quick movement of the Doctor a bit startling. ” I’m from earth to my parent were Zoologist i spent most of my childhood runing around the jungle mostly unsupervised.” She said with a smile.

As Ben settled on the biobed he noticed a smallish tiger like being on the bed next to his. “Er.... I assume you must be Ens...., I mean Ltjg Tigeress, congratulations on your promotion. I’m Ben Wilkinson, the new SO, pleased to finally meet you. I heard there was a Caitian aboard, but hadn’t managed to catch up to you yet.”

Ben JSO - Still trying to win friends and influence people.

Tigress blinked. “Ben? His name is Ben” she thought. She did not respond For a moment. “Its nice to meat you to i spend most of my time in the zooalogy lab or with LT Ben. if you do come to the zoology lab you should know if i’m there Midnight a full grown bangle tiger has free rome of the lab please do shoot him. so how did you hurt yourself? ” she said

Ensign Tigress

T’Lora came back to Ben. “Nurse, 1 ml of Terakine please.” She turned to him. “This is a pain reliever. You may feel a little disoriented for the next 40 minutes or so.” She carefully moved the hypospray to his leg and pressed the button. “There may be a cool sensation. You can continue to talk while I repair the muscle.” She collected the muscular regenerator from the tray beside the bed, then activated it. She watched the tricorder screen in her other hand, observing the muscles slowly begin to repair themselves.
-T’Lora - who got pretty sciency in this one

Ben lay back and felt the pain killer begin to take effect, he didn’t feel really disoriented just kind of “off” somehow. There was a cool sensation in the injured leg and the pain gradually subsided. He turned to the tigeresque being on the bed next to him. “I promise not to phaser you tiger if he doesn’t try to eat me for lunch. Actually I’ll probably just try to stay out of his way.” The painkiller was working well now, Ben grinned and held up a hand pointing it like a phaser. “I managed to injure myself by turning the damage protocols too high during a sparring session, won’t be doing that again.” Another silly grin crossed his face as he noticed the lovely, lavender haired counselor having some sort of tests done a few beds away.

Ben SO - Felling no pain

Tigress shook her head at first until Ben pretended to point an imaginary phazer. Her ears lay back agents her head and she Growled. ” I am no an animal” She hissed at him before realizing what was going on. “I hope he dosent remember that she said turning her attention to T’Lora.

T’Lora stifled a smile as the painkiller took effect. She turned to Tigress trying to hide her laughter. “That wasn’t even a full dose.” she started shaking with silent laughter. She cleared her throat. “We can start on the bones if you’re ready.”
-T’Lora

” Sure” Tigress said with a smile.
