Dagen couldn’t help but draw in a breath in response, but words were lacking at that moment. One of Thrace’s phrases came to mind at a time when he was at a wedding, commenting that the bride was ‘not quite blushing’. Dagen, however, was the one who in this instance blushed, before forcibly looking around him. “Thank you Captain,” Dagen said after a moment. Then, with a smile toward his bride, he felt for her hand. “Then we had best get a little bite.” However, in looking at Reia it appeared that she could rather devour him. Which, to Dagen at that moment, was a fate he would be happy to receive.

Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew that come tomorrow a great deal of things would come to mind about now ‘their’ lives. But that was tomorrow.

Guiding Reia down from where they were in an informal recessional he walked with her to the food tables, leaning in once along the way to give her a ‘happy’ kiss.
- Dagen

Reia was surprised to see Dagen blush and then realized Thor may have been married several times before but, she was Dagen’s first and, hopefully, only wife. Perhaps she needed to dial back the over the top behavior until they were alone. That might be difficult however. Something about Dagen made her feel much more emboldened, not just in private either.

As they walked towards the food, Reia knew she would have to thank the Captain, and assembled crew, for allowing them to steal a great part of this day but, for now, she just enjoyed Dagen’s kiss and the thought of everything that would come later.

“The only thing I didn’t have time to come up with was a cake. At least not here.” she said with a mischievous smile.

Cake. Right. That was a Earth thing. He had not ever fathomed how a tradition like that came to be there so ingrained in the culture. Trill culture didn’t have that. Weddings did prompt a feast of sorts with a favorite of the bride’s being a keynote dish served - usually cooked by her or her family if that was a family favorite. In that way it was different each time. Still, he liked cake - Moreso the icing. His brows rose at Reia’s suggestive comment, but also confused him as his mind was still fairly linear and relating to weddings and traditions and community celebration. This was mostly different but still had some inklings of weddings enough to be a bit of an anchor point to him. This would prove to be a very unorthodox wedding memory- but those typically were remembered the most. “One good thing about a holodeck wedding. You can guarantee it won’t rain on you,” he said as they wove to the table. “Cake later,” he commented as he scanned the table and the alien like foods there.
- Dagen

Reia leaned in and kissed Dagen’s cheek.

“Well if you want it to rain, that’s probably on another program.” she whispered softly flashing a mischievous grin again.

He felt the tingles in the back of his head as though he had drank too much, or her pheromones were becoming noticeable. “Oh no. You’ve been wet once tonight. A second time .. ” he let that trail off as he looked at her lavender dress and let his mind run off with him .. brought back now with her question.

“So, now, what looks good?” she said glancing at the dishes on the table.

Tearing his glance back to the table he looked at the assortment. A lot of it had leaves as some kind of base, likely for decoration, he thought. The foods were saucy and very mixed with fruits and meat. Admittedly he had never really had this style of food but that being said, Dagen was one to dive into things and not take the safe route. He pointed to some kind of meat/fruit mix that had been lathered in a kind of sauce. “That does,” he said. “And that.” That other was a variety of fruits and seafood that had a kind of dip alongside it. Start with the least bland looking and work down, he thought.’
- Dagen

Reia picked up a large plate and ladled several portions of each onto it intending to steal her husband away and share with him.

“Yes, I think you’re right. We should probably eat now while we have the chance.”

Dagen watched the food being ladled on. It seemed to be more random to him. Seeing that she was packing the food per se, he took up a jug of something that looked fruity and likely spiked with something as it was in that section of the table. It was only later that he realized he didn’t take up glasses for it, but then he had other things on his mind, like Reia’s sudden serious glance that stalled his hand on the way to the glasses.

Pausing, she glanced around for a place to sit and then looked back at Dagen with a bit of a serious look in her eyes.

“I am sorry if I caught you too much off guard but the moment was there and I felt myself running away with it. I am not sorry we’re married. I am certainly not sorry to be spending the rest of my life with you either. So, let’s go eat.”

  • Reia

His hand that was at a glass detoured to her slim wrist and closed on it and the bracelet she wore. “It’s a memory. A good memory,” Dagen said to reassure her. “After all, it’s not easy to elope on a starship, but this was the next best thing. And you avoided any chance of your husband to have cold feet.” Given that Dagen had an impulsive streak, at least earlier in life, this was more along his trait than perhaps hers though she had a spontaneous streak that often amazed him. Sliding his hand down to take hers Dagen agreed. “Let’s eat. Over there by the water. There has to be some place along the beach to sit and eat.” And watch the surf and the sunset.
- Dagen

Reia scanned the beach as they walked along. The sound of the waves grew a bit louder while the sound of their shipmates grew a bit quieter. She lead Dagen through a small stand of trees and out into a spot of sand that seemed a little more shaded with a cool sweet breeze blowing.

“Oh I think I like this place. The sand is so nice and soft.” Reia said walking out a bit, “But eating in this pretty dress will never do. Sorry. Could you please help me with this?”

Reia reached over her head, behind her, to her neck line to expose the laces of her lavender dress.

“It goes all the way to the waist and I’m not going to be able to get it undone myself.” she explained with a sassy smile.
